When people are negative, it's a reflection of themselves. They are unhappy with themselves and their lives, so they attack others and make others feel insignificant, so that they can be more significant.

Camclone:

I'm a bit curious as to what drives you to be the "loudest" signal on the planet.

When you state your DBr figures, to what are you referencing that to? What, exactly, are you "louder" than, and why should anyone care?

Your colorful keyboarding aside, the problem I have with the whole effort is that I can mess up your entire work, merely by turning down the volume. By doing that, you're no longer loud, just bassy and without dynamics of any kind. With that kind of power in your listeners' hands, what do you gain by forcing the high levels of clipping on their ears that your stream seems to indicate you're using?

I don't know... maybe this is the kind of excellence the broadcasters in your country aspire to attain. However, I suspect there may be differences of opinion, based on culture, country and engineering experience. In the USA, I don't think a large station would apply such drastic processing to its programming, well... not if they wanted to keep their listeners around for any length of time. Of the 35 stations I watch over, I'm fairly confident that none of them would consider your settings to give them a competitive advantage in their markets.

My guess is that's why your stream is described as "bad"... there doesn't appear to be anything "normal" about it... just an excess of bass and clipping. With that kind of audible assault, there's not much opportunity to evaluate your efforts to minimize compression artifacts, which you also seem to want us to notice.

Indeed there is no reason for a stream to be loud and sacrifice most dynamics BUT on FM the last 30+ years things are LOUD and ...the last 4 to 5 years ...CLEAN AND LOUD

can we just stop and wait for uncompressed mpx recordings?
Have a nice day :)

Stop replying and upload that MPX recording. Put your money where your mouth is in this who has the biggest <insert doorbell sound> contest (oh wait: your the only contestant in that one). dBr by the way isn't a way to measure loudness.

Have nice day too! :-D

To measure loudness you use LKFS / LUFS.
so,when i put your bad sounding stream into my stream monitor, you are not so loud (-6)LKFS whith alot of clipping :D yes i saw that on the scopes.

have a nice day to psychologe camclone

...by the way this is only 192 kbps mp3 ! .... [/b] and - 2 db for headroom compression !!
Imagine on FM with advanced final stages of clipper :) = 75 khz = 12dbr !
after years and years , 12 dbr of loudness on FM with DYNAMICS , deep bass, deep mids , deep everything :)

Hands down that has to be the worst stream I have ever listened to.

I can not imagine that this stream touted as the beacon of perfection places you in any position to make comment or pass judgement over StereoTool.

Here's a helpful hint. Install StereoTool, pick one of the many ready-made presets and LEAVE IT THERE. Beyond that your qualifications are severely lacking.
