- Add lowpass filter for stereo signal (will cause a lot of extra latency!) - it might be possible to avoid this latency using a Hilbert transform
Why is this in lighter color, will this not be added to this version anymore before release?

Vortan, could you try this : enable fm, disable pre emphasis.

Turned on FM transmitter, FM stereo encoder, direct soundcard access, FM transmitter calibration, no pre-emphasis as you said. (edit: beta36)

Infos there:

current output sample rate: 176400 Hz
soundcard supports: 96000 Hz or more
FM Stereo pilot tone: Ok, sending
FM Stereo signal: Sending to soundcard (probably Ok)
FM RDS signal: Off

The music seems to be a little louder than without FM, with FM stereo encoder on - the music sounds like mono, of course it isn´t, but i dont know how i should describe...

@vortan
What soundcard do you use, does this one have 192 kHz sample rate?
If it hasn't than only stereo indicator will light and sound will be mono.
Also make sure there's no pre-emphasis turned on on your transmitter if it has any.

Vortan: LOL,ehm... I didn't realize you were broadcasting on FM

What I wanted to do was improve the filtering (FM is stricter) - but if you already had FM enabled that can't be it...

@hvz: No, youre right, i didnt broadcast fm. You asked me "please turn on fm", .. ok i turned it on and i´ve just looked which infos was there and postet that here. Nothing more. 5 minutes after i turned it back off. ;)

@eldoradofm: Its f..king onboard sound, does not support 192khz. Thatswhy it sounds like mono output, now i get it. As i said, i will buy a new soundcard. Any suggestions?

marian trace alpha is first choice because it has dc straight output. Second choice is esi juli@.

Yes, for FM broadcasting !

But IMO Vortan doesn't need FM.

Ok, so you're NOT using FM, right?

What I'm trying to achieve is the following: In FM mode, the clipping is performed on an unsampled signal - which means that spikes BETWEEN samples get removed. This is better (and mandatory for FM), but it also takes more processing power. It MIGHT solve your sound card issue. To test this, you need to turn FM mode on, but turn ANY FM processing OFF - that includes pre-emphasis, pilot, RDS, Direct Sound Card Output etc.

The audio should sound nearly exactly the same (slightly more clipping occurs, so it could be very slightly softer and harsher). If the artifacts that you heard are caused by spikes in between samples, they should be completely gone with this setting though.

Yes. I will make it later - but I really want to get version 6.20 out (it's already so much better than 6.10).
