The Smart Peak on Band 9 is finally working correctly on the 033 version.

Hmm nothing blew ka-poo-wee

But I went backwards to be safe 8-)

Small issue - text seems to alternate between 'Seperation' and 'Channel separation' when adjusting slider.
That's on purpose - if it fits it takes the longer version :)
Ah, okay then. :) I must say though that I find it a bit disconcerting to see it change like that. Not entirely sure why it 'fits' sometimes and not others. Guess it's not a big deal.

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 04-034.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 04-034.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 04-034.dll

New version with some things to be tested. Added several sliders (Release to 0 per band, limiting level per band), and a new peak measurement mode (Traditional Peaks, I expect that this behaves more like traditional compressors; Attack works the same as in the old 'Simple Peak' mode, release the same as in "Smart Peak" mode).

I see some people managed to download version 033 before I removed it (within a minute!) - anyway, there was a bug in it with Band Max. That's fixed now.

CPU load of this new version is probably a big higher, the new features are there for testing only, once I know what to do with them I'll either remove them or optimize them.

Now the Compressor is working. It seems to be, that i come from old cached properties. really strange...

Tested Traditional Peak vs. Smart Peak in singleband mode. Really a spectacular improvement - I think I can remove both Smart Peak and Simple Peak modes now. Not sure what to do with Smart RMS yet.

In MB mode it's also much better. (Difference is less spectacular but still definitely there).

There still appear to be some issues with Traditional Peak mode, will look into that tomorrow.

BETA035:
- Added equalizer before multiband!
- Fixed Traditional Peak mode bug (it didn't use the accurate level for half of the samples), renamed it to 'Peak' (other peak modes removed).
- Improved RMS mode behavior, basically it now behaves the same as traditional Peak. Also renamed it to just 'RMS'.
- Increased the default Steep value for Multiband band separation from 24 to 32 to reduce pumping. Lower levels do give a more natural sound though so I'm not sure yet which value works best - it also depends on the type of music and the multiband drive.
- Cleaned up some code

Could you add display of limiting to the meters?

Post subject:  Re: Stereo Tool 7.03 BETA

That is displayed - they light up brighter, same as clipping in the old MB.

I have question : What is the idea of the Drive option.
And Is the Output option must behave like the Post amp ?!
I think that Drive must be "amp" for only MB ..Otherwise you must calculate all the db`s that you set for all the sliders that are db oriented ?!?!

@DJ Doggy

The multiband "DRIVE" parameter is used in all professional broadcast processors.
Since Hans has rewritten the multiband, and his attemt to compete against a HW based machine in the future it seems only logic to slowly change parameter names and even place in signal path.

The parameter "pre amp" and "post amp" however, are not used in any professional processor as far as i know so i will not be surprised when it's gone or renamed in the future.
