About the performance: With the new multiband that unnecessary code is gone! Memory usage is also greatly reduced. There are some optimizations possible.
I'm not sure how you're measuring that, but for me, every memory-related metric I have is either the same or slightly increased.

This was *EXACTLY* my concern. I anticipated that all the new stuff you'd be trying to do would, at best, cause the removal of the unneeded code to be a wash, and at worst, cause the CPU load to increase.

That has now come to pass, and, unfortunately, it has turned out to be worst-case scenario. :(

Can you please leave the old multiband available? The ideal would be for it to still be available and for you to remove the unnecessary code, but I'm realizing that probably won't happen, so the next best thing is just for the existing code to remain as it is.

Found several major bugs in the multiband compressor. Building update now. Please forget this last version, it worked correctly in some situations and very bad in some other.

Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 04-032.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 04-032.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 04-032.dll

Changes:
- New Multiband: Bug didn't allow sounds through that had increased in level if other filters were also enabled. HUGE effect on the audio!
- New Multiband: Fixed Smart Peak mode volume measurements (sometimes looked at wrong moment in time).
- New Multiband: Peak modes now work with channel separation < 100%. Not sure though if this is really a good idea... Before it would use the average of the channels, now for each channel it ALSO looks at the maximum.
- Changed some compiler settings; less aggressive optimizations for places where performance isn't important (making the code smaller), and some more in the new Multiband. Files are a bit smaller than before now!

Been testing the new multiband. Are you still considering implementing band soloing?

Here's a mod of the PhantomFM - Big O preset with the new MB. I've tried it on both the Processing Freakday test files and the Torture test, and nearly every track sounds equal or better with this mod.

The biggest difference is in rock music, which sounds much less 'thin' now.

Switch the new MB off to hear the old one. I lowered the clipping level a lot so you can hear the compressor better.
Not sure if this is the best way to set it up - I hope others with more experience with other MB's will find some decent setting.

Yes. For now, you can move the Band Mix sliders of the other bands to 0 to hear just 1 band.

Maybe it will also be usefull, as everything is set to db parameters, to set bass boost as well to db in stead of %.

I think I've tried to previously work out this 'thin' sound you are talking about in the old multiband.

Those first two bands are working mighty hard in your test preset... Also look forward to the preset master craftsmen to chime in!

Are you doing away with soft limiting?
