Sure - the thing is I'm building the software in a virtual machine and the harddisk is full... ![]() |

Stand alone version (not an installer, just the SSE2 .EXE file - download and save somewhere): http://www.stereotool.com/download/radio_tool_SA.exe |

ok.. Here are the tests using "FM Europe stereo" preset. download 1. dsp_rt4_v2.wav - i'll use same words. Bad Sound (bass) 2. dsp_rt4_basslimiter.wav - Much Better! 3. default_ST_v4.10.wav - Warmer bass then in "dsp_rt4_basslimiter.wav" but more punch. (clearer drums) Check in all 3 tracks first bass ~7th second. ... testing standalone ver. on transmitter.... |

Hi Bojcha,Here are the tests using "FM Europe stereo" preset. download 1. dsp_rt4_v2.wav - i'll use same words. (clearer drums) Check in all 3 tracks first bass ~7th second. ... testing standalone ver. on transmitter.... On the default version I do hear a warmer and louder bass, but I think I hear some distortion that I don't hear in the basslimiter version. Dunno which one has more punch. But, for a good comparison, in the basslimiter version you should set the "allow louder bass" slider to +4000 or so. In the default version that gives distortion, in the basslimiter version it shouldn't do that, making the sound warmer again. Right now you're filtering the bass twice, which causes the softer bass. |

I just played track with FM Europe stereo and "ALL" to +4000 Same result .. softer bass in original 4.10, now in basslimiter ver. i can clear hear more distortion on bass, same is with BASS settings. provided by Hans.... but Something other occure with basslimiter version.. i think all other sounds are more clearer! Basicly for me is good org 4.10 ver. . and i don't need more bass but i like this basslimiter bacause other sounds. |

Basicly for me is good org 4.10 ver. . and i don't need more bass but i like this basslimiter bacause other sounds. Are you saying now that the bass in original 4.10 is softer? I'm a bit confused because before in your previous test the bass in the _basslimited version was softer... About the clearer other sounds: Yes, the other sounds were what was keeping the bass down before. I couldn't increase the bass level without getting in trouble with the rest of the sound. About the distorted bass in the _basslimited version: That might be the case, I'll have to look into it. There are several possible causes, one of which might be solvable by just changing a single value... So I guess I should quickly make things configurable in the interface. For now, you can try moving the "clean / punch" slider closer to "punch", to improve the bass quality (but the other sounds may loose some quality again). |

3. default_ST_v4.10.wav - Warmer bass then in "dsp_rt4_basslimiter.wav" but more punch. (clearer drums) so i mean, - softer (warmer) bass in original 4.10 - more punch in basslimiter" - distortion in "basslimiter" when "ALL" is at 4000-5000 - clearer other sounds in "basslimiter" i provided original track ... so you can try it .. i clear hear distortion in in "basslimiter ver" with "Allow louder lows" |

I'll try to check it tonight if I have some time... About the increased distortion in the _basslimiter version: In this new version the bass peak level is 20% higher then in the old version - quite a big difference. So I suppose an in-between value should reduce the distortion. So, again, I need to make it configurable asap...- more punch in basslimiter" - distortion in "basslimiter" when "ALL" is at 4000-5000 - clearer other sounds in "basslimiter" i provided original track ... so you can try it .. i clear hear distortion in in "basslimiter ver" with "Allow louder lows" I'll also check why the original 4.10 sounded warmer... |

Ok I hear what you mean now - the difference is quite big actually. I'll look into it. |

UPDATE: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... ited_2.dll [link fixed!] Bass distortion is greatly reduced, maybe at the cost of slightly more distortion at the other frequencies. CPU load is also a bit lower. Still not configurable - but the method of bass filtering is changing so much that I'ld have to add different parameters every day... So I'll just wait for the response at this version first. |
