Quote: Downloaded the last beta. See an increase of 2-3% on my Ivy Bridge notebook.
7-9% Using VST v6.32 it used to linger around 4 - 6%. Now it's in the bracket of 7 - 9%. Also had to increase the buffer of ASIO4ALL(using WaveRT drivers). PS: Have Natural Dynamics enabled. I believe this filter hasn't undergone any change. So the hike is not attributed to ND. That's quite a steep increase in my opinion. Sounds better though ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hans won't humor my requests for removing redundant iterations of code with values around 80-90%... ...but maybe if that was done, you might get back down to 4-6%... I expect to be told no though... ![]() ![]() P.S. - just funnin with ya |

Found a bug?? When I load a (new) preset pressing ''load'' the buffer stays the same, no glitching etc. But when I use recent preset files, the buffer drops enourmous (causes glitching) and it's also visible. When I make the buffer size then from 0.040 to 0.041 and back the buffer is normal again. Sometimes buffer display is ''empty'' at all when I switched but then the sound is ok Uploaded images to external site ( I don't know how to upload it here, because file is to big) http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?fil ... ucep2x.jpg http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?fil ... onev4f.jpg BTW, I don't think is could be my system. Lowest score on windows index is 6.9 out of 7.9(and that's is of my videocard) |

I just compared the two using Bojcha's Eu4ria preset (FM) and there is a difference but it's really small - I can process 30 seconds of audio in 15 seconds using 6.32, and 29 in the latest beta - a relative difference of 3% (in fact less, these are rounded numbers, the actual numbers were slightly above and slightly below 30). Maybe there's something specific in your settings though - could you send them to me for analysis?

Which option do you choose when you press load? What happens if you load ALL the settings? I think this is related to loading or not loading FM settings.

I think this is related to loading or not loading FM settings. When I press load ---> all settings there is no problem. But when I press the section in ST (where preset name is displayed) and I press on the recent preset file then I get the hickups. It's easier to switch using recent preset files, then load everytime the whole preset by : load --> all settings to hear the diffrence between two presets. |

Hmm, I wonder if this is related to the behaviour I noticed previously? Have a look at the Stereo Tool 7.02 Beta thread, Hans replies there. (Page 5 or so?) |

Hm just thinking... May be I don't use RESET when you load a preset with 'LOAD' but I do when loading using 'Recent presets'. That would explain this. |

When the preset menu is dropped down and you are ready to select a preset, moving the cursor over the various options appears to increase CPU usage dramatically as well as deplete the buffers significantly? Can someone else confirm? I have also noticed that when using 'Load All Settings (Import)' and (re)loading a .sts file, I sometimes get red (error?) buffer indicators. I wonder if this might be related to ST restarting the ASIO drivers rather quickly and finding them still 'locked'?? |

Guess the other way around, when loading a preset with ''load'' you hear a (m)sec of silence --> resetting buffer. When you use recent you don't hear that (m) sec of silence. I think that's it. It's not an huge problem, but when you're tweaking it's a bit easier to switch between versions usin ''recent presets'' |
