Since I use ST using SAMDJ and not SAMBC, is it necessary to have the clipper? I use the SAMDJ(64-bit) as my primary medium to play music.
what is the true advantage, if any, using it when not used for broadcasting?
None, just make sure the output level isn't too high. In my opinion, the clipper only has disadvantages (although it does make the volume a bit more constant).

Mouse wheel issue with "Max harmonic freq" slider not fixed.

No discernable change to audio with 6.31 (all betas) over 6.30 from a non-scope (actual listening) standpoint. Power of suggestion (there was a change that people say is better, so surely it must be better) can play a role here.

Settings for new functionality not saved to STS file.

*****

If multiband (specifically), or anything else before loudness (aka "clipper"), gets changed in a future version, it is highly likely that the behaviors being added to loudness right now, which are returning almost no meaningful changes except for a few people viewing the waveform on a scope, will need to be re-examined once those future non-loudness changes are in place.

@jony: You can always use version 6.30 - that's probably the best idea anyway during beta development (until the consensus is that the new version sounds better). But I'm running a new build now, and VST is included this time :)

New version: Added a checkbox in the AGC "Protect against loud female voices" - intended to avoid annoying volume drops in tracks like "Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On". For certain sounds, the AGC output may be upto 3 dB louder if you enable this.

@Brian: I clearly hear a difference for certain sounds. This change didn't take me more than a few hours. As I said, last week due to personal circumstances I haven't been able to do much (actually I barely had time to answer emails etc.) - normally this change would have taken less than a day. And it's not dependent on multiband or other things - it's really a flaw in the clipper design.

I'll implement saving etc. as soon as it's confirmed that these things actually improve anything - when I've finished the parameter redesign everything will be saved automatically, but right now I still have to write some code for it - and so I wait untill things are confirmed to work, and no longer being changed every few days.

Link for DSP version fixed (the FTP upload had failed for some reason)
Stand Alone version replaced by one where you can see the AGC female voices checkbox.
