I've raised this issue also to the manufactor, but I don't know how fast they are able to fix it. Is there anyway to override the Samplingrate with an INI-Switch, to say, ok faulty it is announced 44100 but Stereo Tool, go 48000 anyway?

I don't know if it's their fault, in fact if earlier ST versions work normally it must be something on our end. I just don't know what that something can be. If anyone encounters another program (which is easier to install) where the wrong sample rate is reported, please let us know.

Just a guess: Could it be, that in older versions the default samplingrate of the VST Plugin was 48000Hz, so it was just a co-incidence that it worked?

What I understood from what you wrote is that the *only* change that you made was switching over to the newer ST build. If so, the sample rate should not have changed. If you did run it at 48 kHz before, then that would indeed explain why it worked back then.

Correct, I did not change anything else then replacing the DLL. But I meant, perhaps Stereo Tool had a different "Default Sample Rate" if nothing is communicated towards the VST from the Host. And maybe this assumption what is the samplerate was 48000 instead of 44100 in your code.

I've noticed that when I switch from English to French, the graphics processor goes into overdrive (from 10% to about 90%). What effect might this have on the software? Is this a bug?

Yes, I forgot to mention that this is the “User Resources” page. Once you've selected the French language in the software's “Language” menu, you'll see a percentage of excessive consumption on the top left. This is the issue I wish to address concerning the stability and fluidity of the rest of the application.
