Ok - this is weird. Because I'm measuring a MUCH lower bass level (0.5 dB softer). Will check again tonight!
![]() edit: 4096 - BASS is Awesome!! much better and cleaner and same level as 4.22 (maybe even higher) ! Highs are at same level as 4.22 and bit cleaner.. all with blckoverlap=0. Highpass missing, i hope it will be good too. |

i just measure again... beta3a blckoverlap=0, preset web-bassboost, 50Hz bass is exactly same level as v4.22, but much cleaner. |

Yes, but that's for a single tone. If you play music instead, the bass level is lower. (Note: If it's still clean, I could boost the bass a bit afterwards - the peak level of the waveform that comes out is also a bit lower. But I expect that the bass level goes up and down continuously.

Hi Hans.. I notice one thing in latest beta3a (maybe with erlier happens but i did;t try) ... I put it on our transmitter (turned off stereoboost and highpass) blckoverlap=0) and if i put "left slope width" from 100 to 90% i get much higher FM output. btw .. again.. cpu usage is much better on blckoverlap=0 .. and quality is far better. Maybe is needed some small tweaks but for now is very good. |

Quote: Hi Hans..
First small tweak is coming up (building it right now), it turns out that the volume calculation (used for "clean/punch") was incorrect. That caused part of the lower bass level.I notice one thing in latest beta3a (maybe with erlier happens but i did;t try) ... Maybe is needed some small tweaks but for now is very good. The bass protection filters also lower the bass level a bit, but that should (I need to check it!) only be if it was too loud in the first place. The bass when not using "Block Overlap = 0" should be a bit better now. If you touch the "slope width" or "overlap size" sliders with block overlap 0, very strange things may happen - the output may be higher but it will also contain HUGE peaks. Please leave them at their defaults! (Note: I will eventually implement the "slope width" sliders as a means to further reduce the CPU load - but I'll do that when the rest is finished). Edit: Build is still running and I have to go somewhere now. So the update will be posted later tonight. But I have some good news too: I think I just found a solution to convert the Stereo Boost filter to Overlap=0 mode... |

Low-Bass on 512 mode is perfect (and much more level) with blockoverlap=0 ans SlopeOverlap 1-3% ![]() ![]() In the same time mid-lows are missing, but sound is still very clean. No Bass ringing. For BlockOverlap >0 ... i must ask why is that mode important now.. when with mode blockoverlap=0 is much better results ? |

Small update: Highpass filter is more or less functioning now in "Overlap 0" mode. However: 1. Make sure that you DON'T use the highpass filter with Overlap > 0 before switching to Overlap 0 for the first time, or you'll get horrible clicking sounds. I don't know yet what's causing it, if you move to Overlap 0 before turning Highpass on there's no problem. 2. It's not as good as in Overlap > 0 mode (there are some remaining sounds at the end of each processing block, that's every 2048 samples in 4096 latency mode). |

Not everything is working yet in "Overlap = 0" mode.![]() ![]() In the same time mid-lows are missing, but sound is still very clean. No Bass ringing. For BlockOverlap >0 ... i must ask why is that mode important now.. when with mode blockoverlap=0 is much better results ? I'm surprised about the SlopeOverlap - that shouldn't be the case ![]() |

It's good with slope overlap=0 .. just a bit cleaner lows with slope 1-3% .. not so important.![]() High Pass works now witd block overlap=0, it's little better in block overlap >0. |
