Too many confusions...

Steepness at 5-10% gives better bass, warmer, more like original unprocessed. That Chris hear and it's sounds better. But....
Thats because first 2 and/or 3 bands are more joined at that settings (lower latency)
Already at 25% things are different, now bands are not so "like one". and processing starting. Biger value make it more like original multiband from v6.00, but sound of bass is not so good only because it's not like original, strong, punchy, warm...

All that is problem from Multiband concept! Multiband just does not keep the original sound (lows)

It, must have atleast separate Compressor and Limiting per band (clipper is not needed in that case). with separate attack/release settings.
Multiband is very important. That's the place where you give main signature to sound.

OR easy way (but not better)...
To implement Compress/Limit Slider PER band.
First what i would test is first bands more to limit and last bands more to compress.
OR, Maybe just one new slider can fix MB problem, "Drive"

BETA6/17: Again Better, very good tuned difference between 4096 and 512, Freq. response almost same. but still slightly missing control over lowerest band.
Ludacris Ft. Nicki Minaj- My Chick Bad
Kelly Rowland - Stole
Bingo Players - When I dip (this one is nasty!

Chris: Only change in BETA17 is at latency 512.

Bojcha: Compress/Limit per band would be easy to implement (most difficult issue is where I can put the sliders...). And with a 'Link' button I can make it easy to change them all at the same time.

What would 'Drive' do?

For very low latency, only solution for band 1/2 separation would be to separate band 1 from 2 BEFORE any other processing occurs. Actually that should be fairly easy:
1. Separate band 1 from the rest of the audio, with as little latency as possible. (Filtering does not have to extremely steep, nor exactly phase linear)
2. Just 'remember' the audio in this band during the first few steps (noise gate etc.), basically this band is ignored (left unchanged) during those steps.
3. When Multiband kicks in: Feed this band 1 data through the existing singleband compressor/limiter, then afterwards add the output of that to the Multiband output of the rest.

Seems to be a good solution, not for 6.01 (which I want to release ASAP), but maybe for 6.02...

@Hans Agree... but i hear Bass and Kick diff between Beta08 and all the rest till Beta 17... so i still use Beta 08.

I know, window/s are already big.
Maybe to short all sliders, for example, by half.

Maybe. But most of them are already extremely sensitive. And I really want to try to keep the window small enough to fit on an 800x600 display (currently the equalizer values are already outside that area).

Maybe a few pixels per slider would suffice though - the Compress/Limit sliders can be very small.

Most design has moved on to 1024x768 being the minimum target resolution. I'm running at 1280x1024, but I have a 19 inch CRT. Why are you wanting to keep such backward-compatibility? People running this on laptops with small screens? Unless it's that, sometimes you just have to move people upwards into higher resolutions, kicking and screaming as they go... The eyes get accustomed to the "smaller" size of a higher resolution generally pretty quickly, so once someone is over the initial "ZOMG!!! This is SO SMALL!!!", they'll be ok... ;)

I'm running at 1920x1200 and I wouldn't like anything smaller than that anymore - but some time ago I had a window that was too big and I got complaints about it. Eventually I ended up supporting a scroll bar etc., but that was a bit problematic in combination with all the things I'm drawing myself.

Anyway, you might be right - actually I thought I had already moved to 1024x768, but when I checked the biggest window was much smaller than that.

Note: Some people DO have a bigger screen, but increase the font size - which also affects all Stereo Tool windows. That was actually the case for the people who complained in the past...

i have 1366x768 on one monitor ( size ) of mine and 1680x1050 on the other one at the other side of the room.

does not work to well on netbooks screens that are 1024x600...you end up with the bottom bit missin in the limiting loudness box.

but not many people use 1024x600..( that's a guess.)

My OPINION :

Latest beta of stereotool is the MOST INTELLIGENT sound processing " road " platform EVER CREATED for FM broadcast and streaming.

YOU SHOULD focus on building " correct " edited PRESETS !

The problem in stereotool WAS AND ...IS ...PRESETS !!! ( mostly AGC settings and multiband settings , this is the BIG part!

the code is excellent for me, the hard work is FROM NOW ON ...building presets for FM broadcast and for Streaming.

Thank you for your precius time!

( still didnt get any answer about extra SCA encoders for FM use, i m willing to pay you for making such a code, 300 euros max)
