Hans what do you think about my ....part of skin with buttons RED/Green/No color ?
Is it good?
I prefer seeing the setting even if a button is disabled. So that would require an extra image. Also I don't like the background color (but I don't like my own button color anymore either, in the end everything must match each other).

But more importantly, I really think I need to change the buttons so they are not so high anymore. So, not putting the LED *under* the text anymore.

I'm still not really sure what to think about the big buttons - hope more people will respond.

I think that buttons are good for now.
Look, if for future ST will have more buttons , then buttons can be smaller. But for now.......... i don`t think so.

Well I do agree with what Brian said (needing to click more is annoying). So for that, I *need* smaller buttons.

I think it's just not necessary to FullFill whole window.

I tryed to set my resolution to 800x600 and ST to full screen. All looks so big.

Bojcha ,
800x600 is a way toooooo low resolution for years ( may be about 4-5 years ). Nowadays monitors have resolution to 1920x1080 , so even 1024x768 is low resolution . I must say that using exactly 1024x768 but it looks low.So no logic in your words for 800x600 ?!? But try to set to 1600x1200 if your monitor can do it. And then say that buttons are BIG ?!
Also ST is not in full screen for everyone right? it`s just an option to set it full screen.

You don't know what new ST GUI also need to meet! That is 800x600 and 1024x768 touch displays. ;)

Today, on the sixteenth day of the tenth month of the year of our Lord, 2012, did Brian get an agreement from someone, anyone, without having to drone on and on about it. Hallelujah! ;)

Suggestion: Come up with an angel smilie. The red-eyes can be devils, but no real "angels" to pick from.

In all seriousness though, with respect to the "simple" vs. "advanced", I was not meaning to use the same interface buttons and other items as the "simple" does, just show more of them at once to create "advanced". That's indeed probably relatively easy. What I meant was having something similar to the old UI as the "advanced".

Now, I understand what you're saying about touch screens and tablets, and that same thought had occurred to me earlier. The people really interested in this are mobile DJs - the ones that play in different clubs or at different events, not a steady gig at an established location.

So, with all that in mind, I know that staying with the same type of design for all modes is easier, but easier isn't always better. The people that are at established gigs or are actually in studios most likely don't care about the interface's attractiveness, only that they can get things changed quickly if they need to.

With that in mind, what is the problem with having a "mode switcher" like what the Creative Labs driver software does? I have the choice of three modes: Audio Creation, Entertainment, and Game. While Entertainment and Game share some similarities, they are indeed different. Audio Creation mode is by far the most different - it even offers the hallowed "Parametric EQ".

Yes, more work, but providing more options to cater to more types of users is almost always a good thing.

So that I'm clear, at this point I flat out do not like anything about the upper frame of the UI except for a couple of the new meters, but I could make do with the smaller size of them in the bottom frame and not use the top frame unless I absolutely had to. I seriously do mean that, if I absolutely had to.

I'm willing to be patient for a smaller font, but I'm not sure how much that's really going to satisfy my objection to it. It's more basic of an objection than that. At this point I am only checking on various meters and resize bug reports in 6.33. For everything else, I revert back to 6.32.

Now, in fairness, I absolutely stink at artsy-fartsy stuff, so I'm not saying I'd do better. It's just I know that, like Mr. Horse said about "Brand X litter":

- Switching between screens: Button at wrong position. (Somewhat ugly jump in screen position, won't fix that for now - maybe (much) later.
- Try to make alternative view also visible, very small, together with in/output levels
- Improved scope display
- Clipping display (red)
- Optimize MPX drawing (first check if it's really the problem by disabling it in software).
- Different font

As you can see, the new font is a lot smaller than before. This creates a lot of room for shrinking the whole interface. More to come!

Better. Doesn't give me as much of a feeling of using an Accessibility-targeted product. The key point there is that it doesn't give as much of a feeling as before, but the feeling is still there.

The more cumbersome nature obviously has not been addressed by this either, but I do understand that wasn't a goal for this version.

I'm pretty tired, so I think I'll check into the 3-to-2-band AGC thing tomorrow.

in progress.. http://i.imgur.com/GjEpr.png (maybe too many colors (?))

Anyway what i think need to be done is..
- To make all buttons same size, or in 3 different sizes (for different whole window resizing)
- To make all sliders same size, atleast at height.
- Then, would be way more room to group all pod-settings in to one window (including On/Off button). If not possible into 2 pod-sections

For example,
Bass Boost / Phase rotation / - all can be in one window.
Noise Removal - Same all in one splited window for "n-hiss" and "n-gate"
Configuration - CPU/latency, Plug-in, Scheduler, Web Interface - All are general setting and can fit in one window.
Levels - That can be removed and placed in Main (MENU) section.
Multiband - All except "Bands" can be in one place.
Rest reorganizing according to new (smaller sizes of Sliders and buttons)
