The version I had uploaded as V1 was not V1 !
It was an older (private) beta version.

That`s why I have uploaded now the correct preset - now called V2 !
So uploaded V1 was a private beta but not V2 !

Belive me Brian, you will not like new multiband becaue it will (should) start to compress sound, it will (should) have Bigger range (2x bigger) and just small part of problem is there.

In the mean time, BETA033 does weird things when I feed it pink noise (reported by Bojcha). I have a fix now which is working better.... Will probably post it tomorrow.

@all: In the end, EVERYTHING must work well to get a good sound. And while a good multiband section will help - and a lot too - making that will be a lot easier if I don't need to try to fix issues in other parts of the chain in the multiband processor. So, for example, now that the 'S' hole punching issue is solved in Loudness (as it should be), Multiband doesn't have to protect against loud 'S' sounds anymore (as I thought before). Which is good. Because that gives me much more freedom when developing it.

Basically, ideally I should be able to throw just about everything at the Loudness section without having to worry about what Loudness will do to it. And I'm getting closer to that all the time. The voice vibrations is the last remaining "big" issue that I know of (although it's not very big anymore, but it would still be nice if it would be gone completely).

The same is true about the AGC, the improvements from a few weeks ago really help a lot for Multiband as well, because now Multiband won't receive short very loud bursts of sound anymore.

The last 2 weeks I've only been working on code cleanups, no changes in audio (well a few that happened to come up in the process). This cleanup will help A LOT when building new features - including a new multiband section. It was something I should have done years ago - but I never had time for it. New developments will be so much easier - and faster - when this is in place.

Also Bass protection is low as -1.7dB .. and should be atleast -1.0
Cheers Bojcha! You spending summer with Camclone in Greek islands?

BETA034: Weird bass shape fixed again

Winamp/DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 22-034.exe
Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 22-034.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 22-034.dll
Command line: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 22-034.exe

IMPORTANT: LOW LATENCY OUTPUT IN THE STAND ALONE VERSION IS BROKEN AND MIGHT EVEN CAUSE CRASHES. SO MAKE SURE TO TURN IT OFF BEFORE UPGRADING! The good news here is that with the new design it should be pretty simple to get a much better working low latency output which might even have a lower latency than before.

I'll fix that next.

Improved low latency output in stand alone version!
http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 22-035.exe

The low latency output now contains:
- Declipper
- Noise gate
- Stereo widener, AZIMUTH etc.
- AGC
- Multiband
- Lowpass and highpass filtering
- Phase rotation

I don't know if I should add the clipper here as well - not sure how bad it will sound at a latency of 256 (!) samples. (approx. 6 ms of processing latency, which means that it should be possible to get close to 11 ms output latency if you add ASIO etc.).

I have not yet tested if everything works properly - all the filters do at least something that resembles what they should do but I have not checked the quality.

How much ms of latency improvement should this last beta have? Or is it only sound improvement?
Bojcha just told me that you're talking only about this ouput:

I was thinking on all outputs and then lower latency settings.

Ow oops. That's what you get if you type something after working on it all day. Yes, I did mean the Low Quality Low Latency output.

Until now that only contained something like the dualband limiter from version 5.00 and a moribund compressor. With the code cleanup it has become a lot easier to duplicate the processing here.

The latency has not changed. Both the AGC and declipper don't function at lower latencies - of course that could be fixed but I guess the sound will probably be far too bad at such low latencies - and I would only gain 3 ms from it.
