About the dynamics boost filter: I may have an idea that should work much better; basically it's a method to do what I now do for bass sounds for all frequencies. That should also get rid of the current artifacts. |

Would it waste too much of your time to take beta 28 and only enable saving for the dynamics booster settings ? Ok, it is all beta, but especially beta versions with new experimental functions (that you cannot save and load) can lead to additional confusion for many users. And the point that these experimental functions can introduce massive artifacts is also true for almost every other processing module (changing values to extreme settings, e.g. loudness settings). So, finally it all depends on the ears (and taste) of the user anyway, if he gets artifacts in the audio output, or not. |

Michi: Please give me a day or 2. I have a new MUCH better dynamics boost filter, which I'm going to call 'Natural Dynamics'. It works on ALL frequencies, and does not add any extra latency. (It does add some minor artifacts though). It's not exactly the same filter (there's nothing 'natural' about what I did before) - just wait and you'll see! |

Here's an over-the-top example of 'Kid Rock - All Summer Long'. http://www15.zippyshare.com/v/22939591/file.html First 60 seconds: Without 'Natural Dynamics' Next 60 seconds: With 'Natural Dynamics' - TOO STRONG though; performed 3 times instead of 1 or 2 which I think sounds better - but this clarifies what it does. Ow, and it's not yet configured correctly. |

Is the principle of this much like Creative's Crystalizer? Also, is the CPU usage a minimal increase or quite a bit? Anything of any substantial amount more and I can't really add any additional filters because it slows my system down too much. Of course, I'm on an AMD, and I don't know if the whole question about the compiler xw / xn stuff was fully answered. |

Ok, I only hope that this can produce similiar subtle dynamic boosting like the "old" filter (using boost strength x 1.25).Here is an example: http://www20.zippyshare.com/v/43445095/file.html First 17 s original (remaster release 2009), then 17 s ST remastered with dynamic boost strength x 1.25 and the last 17 s without boost. With this little boost (middle portion) it sounds more vivid than without boost. |

Hm, interestingly, the new dynamics boost filter seems to really like voices. They are boosted the most! Bass is currently not boosted much - I know what's wrong, will fix it. |

Today ? Are the Netherlands an Easter free zone ? If not, then don't forget the Easter eggs ! Or is the next Beta version the Easter egg ? Last year I provoked Leif to release BA 0.90.95 Beta at Easter: ![]() http://www.claessonedwards.com/forum/vi ... 1dfc#p6938 And now Hans ? |

LOL! But I'm not there yet - need to fix some things, such as automatic clipping level detection. Maybe I'll postpone the dynamics boost for later (it looks like it will be a bit more work, although it's already working a bit now). Still, this Easter is a bit too soon. |

It's already to warm here to place easter eggs outside! Go outside and enjoy the sun Hans. |
