it's same as last beta !?
It shouldn't be! I just downloaded it to check it but there should be a new version there. Can you see the "Clean highs / Deep bass" slider in the Loudness panel? If not, you might need to clear your cache (or add a "?" after the URL, that always works).

Bojcha, I'm curious up to which value you find the distortion acceptable... That's with the normal bass and highs sliders at 0. I still need to choose a default value, so feedback on this is welcome. (Note: You cannot read the exact value, but you can for example estimate where it is on a scale from 0 to 1).
somewhere here max

Guys, I hope my cold heals fast now because with all these beta's and part of my hearing missing at this moment I am eager to test again.

Bochja and Hans, don't you guys have the 'enough' syndrom ?

By this I mean that during all the years, over 23 years (oo) of personal audio processing testing now, I always change my mind constantly the day or week after.
What sounded excellent, 'fat' or whatever you want to call it, sounded really bad or not so excellent afterwards.
And I am not only talking about settings but also forced distortion.

To be honest, I have had enough of it for the last 2 weeks or so. The thing is, there was indeed (a lot) more distortion than before in the last few versions, and I just didn't want to release version 4.0 with lower quality than 3.55... And I also didn't want to release a version with a lot less bass (I know Vamprecords is broadcasting a lot of rock music with very loud kickdrums, and that sounds very "flat" with softer deep bass frequencies). While in Bojcha's music the distortion sounded really bad. So at the very least, the software should be able to cater for both types of usage.

Right now the problem seems to be solved (Vamprecords, are you still happy :-) ? If not I can increase the maximum value of the deep bass slider, that's just a single value that needs to be changed, so just let me know...), so I just want to fix the last few bugs, and then release this thing and take a (long...) break. :D

And you're very right - at some point you don't even hear anymore what is better and what is not. That's probably why I didn't notice the distortion in the first place. Which is also a good reason to stop...

I wish you a quick recovery!

Bojcha, question about the volume changes that you see. Is the following correct?

1. Start up Stereo Tool
2. Select an FM preset
3. Press PLAY

4. Close and restart Stereo Tool
5. Press PLAY

And then on 5 you get a different volume than on 3.

It's not happening here, which is why I'm asking - I might miss a step somewhere...
