About for later fixes or changes :
I think that speeds for AGC/like it is now/ and for MB must be DB/s not "ms" like Hans or Bojcha /i cannot remember now/ said time ago. And Hans implemented this for AGC .

P.S: I see in Detection panel of MB that option is added "Limting distortion" and it`s lowest point is 1% , why it`s not 0% ?
And one more : I still cannot found the difference of Feedback option between 0 and 100% . There is difference in levels of detection but from where it comes ? when is 0% and when is 100%

Hans, latest beta works beautifully with ESI Juli@, thank you! Now I only need to raise enought money to buy the all inclusive version of Stereo Tool, the features are just amazing here! :o

But there is a problem that has persisted quite long time, I never thought it to be a problem that I should report.. It's just that when my sound card stops responding, so does Stereo Tool (when trying to exit). It has to be killed from task manager, and when started again, it restores to the point where it was when last time started...

Does that still happen?? I haven't seen that in a loooong time. Used to be an issue when closing Stereo Tool that occurred sporadically, but since 7.24 that should not occur at all anymore.

Or is that something that doesn't happen upon closing Stereo Tool but at other moments/actions?


Edit: O I should read better - you're the one with the Juli@ issue. Yes if the driver really crashes and Stereo Tool keeps waiting for it to respond, it will indeed hang. The ideal solution (which might be possible) would be to avoid the Juli@ driver problem altogether (Bojcha told me yesterday that he did some tests and - as far as I have heard - he did not see any crashes if he didn't restart it very fast; if that's indeed the case I could just add some delay between successive restarts when you're changing the buffer size - and actually even if that doesn't fix the issue it should make the chance of getting driver crashes much much smaller. Hm - maybe you can confirm this? It would be good to know if it acts the same on multiple pc's. Test is: Set normal input/output to something non-Juli@, then turn ASIO on and off a few times per second.).

To make things clear, at least for me at the moment, which presets are the new optimized by Bojcha? King's Fire FM, correct?

Thanks. The ones with the 1 band AGC. Bojcha, you don't like three bands of AGC? :mrgreen: The first one sounds really well.

Using Juli@ with ASIO I get buffer issues, turn ASIO off and it is very stable.

Does having ASIO off only affect latency and not affect quality?

Yes, assuming that you choose a sample rate that matches what your sound card can handle natively (XP) and what's set in the sound card driver settings (Vista, Win7/8) - otherwise Windows will resample your audio which is bad (resampling isn't bad per se, but Windows uses a very bad quality resampling algorithm).

For ASIO, it might help if you set the sample rate to the one you need for output (I think it still behaves weird if you choose a low sample rate and enable FM output). Can you try setting it to 176.4 or 192 kHz?

- PC: Copy ASIO per-output channel settings to main ASIO screen.

- Flat Frequency Response: Built-in presets use default value, should use conversion function.

- Improved limiter: Flatter frequency response, better behavior at low frequencies, more accurate level measurements, tighter (Bojcha, do you still hear the distortion from the previous beta? If so I can smooth things a bit more)
- Added Traditional Peak detection mode to compressor; this mode should not be used unless you have a lack of CPU power -> Brian, I think with this setting the new multiband compressor will perform about the same as the old one.
- Hangup when pressing Natural Dynamics in bottom display
- ND license incorrect
- AZIMUTH default settings: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4875
- Phase rotator: Change name "As early as possible" (unclear!) and hide in most modes?
- Organize ND settings better
- Fix loading existing presets (Gamma values, "As early as possible" etc.)

- Changed ND default settings (experimental!)

Remaining:
- Maybe add J-Type as BS412 preset as well

Later:
- ND artifacts band 1 (JesseG) - is this still an issue with larger drop times? -> Later
- Compressors: Add Reverse Release to improve start of loud highs -> Idea might be good but it doesn't work this easily. Postpone.
- Try to reduce MB/ND volume measurement CPU load. Maybe ignore some bands if there's nearly no signal there etc.
- Multiband/ND: Flat frequency response: Add separate settings for each crossover?)
- MB bands limiting display - Really difficult to fix (without increasing CPU load); it works fine without band coupling, and shows the actual reduction level if band coupling is used. So keeping it like this for now... :(
- Mac: VST: Child window support. Difficult... Maybe later! Not needed, current solution seems ok.
- Mac: Cursors not supported. (Keep like that for now).
- AGC behaves bad: Different speeds at different locations.
- ND boosts highs in Dragana S track - should not do that-> later?
- Band coupling separate settings per crossover -> bit problematic, can this be postponed?
- MB Gamma and Inertia default values - but without changing existing presets
- Somehow try to estimate Attack/Release vs. Gamma/Inertia?
