Please disregard and delete my account on this forum. I've always heard it said that three times the charm. In this case, it isn't so. Instead of getting angry, I'd rather just have the account here deleted. |

Quote: In the chain of tabs on Stereo Tool, it does appear it was purposed that bandpass filter took place after processing, but before clipping and limiting, bass boost and the single band compressor/limiter, which it does. Not too sure why, but that's why I asked in the first place.
The reason for this is that the phase linear bandpass filter can leave some mild 'rumble' sounds. Nothing you would normally notice (although it's more noticeable at lower latency or quality settings, which is why I made the non-phase linear version in the first place) - but if all the compression comes after it, it can be boosted up to a level where you actually hear it.The non-phase linear HPF doesn't have that problem, but it's not phase linear, and due to the way everything works, it's much easier to put it at the start of the chain than in the middle. So that's why this one is located at a different spot. |

tested beta 28 vs beta 21 against "Music" from John Miles (intro, piano remarks earlier in the thread) and this is much much much better indeed (much) despite some things obviously not 100% yet, still some tape noise processed but better by far |

Geez dude, it seems like your problem has a fix. There must be a failure to communicate somewhere in the ether here. Instead of getting angry, I'd rather just have the account here deleted. ![]() |

I agree, I'm just not certain what's going on at the beginning of tracks with Beta 28.

I like how you wrote this post three times. First the original, then you came back twice to add more details to your resignation. Are you really gone this time?

Thanks for the explanation. If I need to say it I don't expect any rushing, I can't imagine how busy you must be, and I think I have a hard time. ![]() |

I'm having a similar problem to that Near05 reports, the AGC reduces volume, but it doesn't increase it properly when using the "new AGC mode", I kept playing with the settings and managed to fix it, increasing the Release time and reducing the Attack time a bit from the default settings, you can see how it looks here:

Max attack works fine though. By the way, you shouldn't really need Max Release Speed anymore because the release speed is no longer excessively fast on loud bursts.
Thank you for this information. I tried it once, and it actually works. Exactly this setting had now been in the preset of weskeene. So that was the difference, and because it is not at maximum by default, nothing seems to have happened.By the way, with the new beta, I also have crashes of Adobe Audition every now and then when I open StereoTool. This is rather irregular, but then the whole program crashes. Hi all! After a while, i'm back to ST (kinda) ![]() First thing i tested new AGC, and i must say that it fixes 1 problem from old (legacy) AGC but presents about 3 nre problems. New agc should be RMS based, wich is at first great idea, however after just few test tracks, i found that it's not so good. Firstly i was tuning attack and relese speeds to some normal leveling behaviour, when i first thing i realised that idea of RMS leveling is actually gone! But, on top of that it presents me new problem then, it still on some soft-part-of-track ends up massively amplyfied! The effect is so huge that cant be avoided even with even more perfectly tuned speeds or Sidechain(s). That one thing that is better in new AGC then in old AGC is more accurate attack, old one was just too slow near-target and too fast on big changes. New one do that much better. Perfect tracks to test AGC are those that have both Dynamic and compressed parts. Or Dynamic tracks it much singing and/or loud voices. |
