I don't see a carrier but I do see now that the output signal for the extra latency setting contains a lot of mess that should have been filtered out.How did you see this 38 kHz carrier? Using which settings? (And which version?) Note to anyone testing: In extra latency mode, the quality of the signal is not good enough... Will check why. |

Fix is building now... (That's for the bad filtering, not for the 38 kHz carrier - I haven't seen that one yet) |

beta3A. I don't see that 38kHz? But no output without loudness (standalone) !? Right meter for loudness not working ? edit: ah, let's see next. |

Update is online. "No output without loudness" is also fixed, loudness display is still incorrect. |

http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA3A.exe ahh .. without loudness big mess in sound. I wanted to put it on stream. edit: I put it on transmitter. Seems that sound is better now... and a bit less cpu load. |

Same as v4.22? (or better due to the multiband fixes)I'll check what's wrong when Loudness is turned off. About the CPU load: When Loudness is enabled, you can set the overlap even lower than before, because the 'extra latency' Loudness filter also works as a filter that removes some of the artifacts caused by small overlap values. |

Loudness is better .. can be pushed more again. I notice one more thing... I think it's prelimiter, need to go bit faster down when high peek bass comes. But anyway it can be fixed with multiband decay. What about CPU usage? any ideas ? |

*GREAT* update coming up! I managed to get the 4096 Loudness filter nearly IDENTICAL to the extra latency version! 2048 is also very close, and even 1024 doesn't deviate too much (although it does have more distortion). The CPU load is a big higher though. Anyway, this means that I'm now ready to stop working on the Loudness filter quality, and can start looking into shortcuts to reduce the CPU load. |

Building now... The CPU load of the Loudness filter is about 45% higher than before, so I really need to find some optimizations! When testing it, you'll probably need to set the 'slope steepness' sliders a bit lower to be able to run it... This mainly affects the 4096 setting, and there a higher 'slope steepness' should not cause too many problems (I think...). (Note to self: Todo: Test if it's possible to 'emulate' the Loudness-10 in Loudness-12 mode by using averages) |
