Well from the screens I posted above you can clearly see that 7.70 vs 7.71 beta shows no difference with regard to the newer AMD platform. And I did switch between threads so 0,1,2/0,2,4/1,3,5/2,4,6 - made no difference too... kinda strange, isn't it?

Yes, speed looks like 20 years ago or more ;)

Yeah, okay. You discussed about adding more threads. Another processing thread would be nice since my i7-4790K @ 4GHz is maxing out on the 2 virtual cores (HT on) when everything is set to max CPU usage (Declipper, Composite Clipper, Dequantizer..) and feeding ST with heavily clipped material :D

Strange since full FM preset (+stokke) on Core2Duo E8500@3.6GHz uses ~50-55% cpu. (v7.71)

Mine i7-3770@3.4 GHz is running using 25-30% of cpu wth full FM preset (and stokke)

Is the "Got unknown widget ID" problem already reported? Occurs when enabling Web interface -> Restart -> "EXCEPTION OCCURRED IN HttpServer: Got unknown widget ID", and it seems to be looping since you can't close that exception window. Fortunately it doesn't block the GUI so you can disable the interface and restart to be normal again.

I noticed it yesterday when I tried to show Leif the web interface. Will look into it soon (I'll put it on the todo list now).

One thing to remember guys is that cpu usage should be the usage of the highest core and not the average of all cores.

Example : my amd pc has 4 cores.i get 50% cpu usage before the sound starts to shutters. The main highest core has 100%. My old dual core pentium pc with the same preset has 96-98%. The highest core has again 100%. My friends i7 has 8 threads 13% usage and the highest core is still 100%. That is the problem. The main core will be melted while all others wont do anything. And so that main core will not be able to do anything else and if something tries to use this main core the sound will shutter.

Edit:numbers are only for example peuses.

Thank you very much - Mpex2006km

On my laptop I can run any of the built-in FM + composite clipper + Stokkemask presets without any issue on a SINGLE core - so not even 2 - with plenty of headroom. That's on a laptop i7 4710 at 3.1 GHz. So... A 4790 desktop i7 at 4 GHz should really have no problem at all running this, unless something is very wrong somewhere.

A while ago (before the latest optimizations) I tested it on an i7-4770 and the CPU load reported by Task Manager was 6-7%. Which means that about 50% of one core is used. After the latest optimizations it should be less.
