Hans, can you place somewhere a button to make only the monitor part visible?

Ow! I know... My laptop is completely overloaded (running Windows 7 AND a Windows XP VMware image AND an Ubuntu VMware image) - so I've turned everything off that's not absolutely necessary to write, compile and test the code.

I was planning to reboot anyway, so Skype should come back automatically.

Windows stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 24-030.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 24-030.exe
Windows VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 24-030.dll
Windows command line: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 24-030.exe
LINUX stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-030
LINUX command line: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-030

I don't completely trust the changes that I made yet (they are improvements though, if they are correct, and if not I need to fix them), I really need to test (Wednesday) if the buffer filling is correct. I expect this new version to work (and tested it in both Linux and Windows with WINMM), but upon startup it's possible that the buffer filling is always 1 unit too low - that would be mainly visible in Linux and when using ASIO. But it might also be ok.

DONE:
- Linux: Apparently outputs are mixed (see description from Radiofreak).
- Linux: Sound card buffer display incorrect
- Low latency is not de-emphasized when Normal output is disabled
- Linux crash with specific settings - also affected Windows
- Windows: 24 bit sound card - Already 24/32 bit when using ASIO, and 24/32 bits is not supported in WINMM mode!

- Windows: Channel swapping in Windows reported by Bojcha -> Threading error, fixed.
- ^C/^V/other keys don't work in SAM...
- All: Low latency sound sometimes bad (VERY bad) - also in older versions. - was a resampling error (44.1 in, 176.4 out)
- Crackling and static in low latency output
- Loading and saving .sts file (and hence also starting and closing of Stereo Tool) is a lot faster.
- Entering registration key changed, and there's an overview now of which features are registered. See Configuration -> License
- AM stations: Added asymmetric clipping
- Slightly improved the mouse hold (slow slider movements) vs. non-hold detection.
- Rewrote all OS specific code for GUI and sound cards.
- Errors are now displayed in sound card bars when they are red.
- Bug fix: With Multicore disabled, Normal output doesn't work in the stand alone version.
- Low latency monitoring in ASIO wasn't really low latency - fixed

TODO:
- Linux: Final check with valgrind on test system
- Linux: Jack buffers 'leak' on startup. -> Immediate restart added after startup.
- Linux: Keep sound card settings if Jack not available or output not available.
- Linux: Buffer filling now always same after restart. Not sure yet why, on Windows it's fine. There is some code that I disabled in Linux because it caused issues - I'm starting to think I do still need it. --> Now fixed and working perfectly (and better than ever before) on both Windows and Linux!
- Windows: Bojcha reports that restarting after buffer empty doesn't work properly. Might be fixed.
- Linux: Wunjo: Jack patching outside Stereo Tool (?) issue
- Add presets
- Change version number
- Release
- Bojcha: If possible to add on list fix for MB compressors meters (and might possible audio) interact wrongly with Burst compressors AND limiters.

I see on other forum that it will be new DeClipper (?) - Will that fix problem with "loud bass + highs" artifacts ?

I was talking about the same one that's in Stereo Tool now. The separate 'Perfect Declipper' plugin hasn't been updated in a while (because it still uses the old GUI), I need to convert it to use the new GUI - that's it actually...

BTW, I did find a bug in the Linux version: When you start Stereo Tool in the first few ms the buffers empty a bit, causing issues if you have configured it for low latency. This must have been introduced by the change that I made to avoid channel swaps... Oddly, the Windows ASIO version is not affected. Checking...

(Edit: Ow. #ifdef _ST_WINDOWS_AUDIO around the code that should ensure proper buffer filling at startup. Ok, not so strange then).
