Switched to R-Type @Radio-im-Internet.de today. Still not sure, if I like this one better than Eu4ria II. Both presets sound great with our Format. Thanks so much Bojcha! (I case you wonder: I disabled the Noise Gate, because I do not want to remove any analog noise from the original recordings) |

Love this preset! (v-19) Best web based preset for us so far. Eats most of our collection, 70s 80s 90s 00s. |

Just got around to listening to this. I have to somewhat agree with djinforce9. Upper-mids and highs are a bit harsh, but only at higher volumes. At lower volumes, it sounds pretty good. Of course, someone could say that the presets that I do have dull mids and highs at lower volumes... ![]() Anyway, it's not terrible, but it is a bit harsh. That makes certain percussion very sharp. Example: Enigma - Back To The Rivers Of Belief - Way To Eternity / Hallelujah / The Rivers Of Belief Right at the beginning, that percussion is very sharp at higher volumes. |

Yes, I have noticed that and turned off the FM-Settings. The preset caused some problems with a few songs (over modulated highs), that's why I switched back to Eu4ria II for now.I updated FM version and forgot to send to Hans web version, so he just copied to web Web version should be less loud and with less super highs and also with other things different. Will upload fix for web version soon! Let me know, when R-Type is fixed. Thanks! |

It is still too harsh for mids and highs, in my opinion. In fact, I don't hear much difference at all. First guess is over-aggressive AGC, as you and I have had differences of opinion over how fast the volume should rise, although with only 1 band, I don't know...One thing I realized is that so long as you don't use the volume reduction with the simple clipper, you can get by with a much lower AGC Target Output Level. For example, at 99%, I ended up choosing -8.50. At 100% (or disabled), I was down at -10.00 and got the same general RMS level output. At 98%, I had to go up to -7ish or higher. So, something you might could try is easing up on the AGC level and multiband might end up bringing it to roughly the same final output level. Beyond that, maybe burst protection or stronger singleband? Of course, you might think it's absolutely fine and I'm crazy... ![]() |
