Hi, got caught up with work and stuff.... But anyway, if you want to use the declipper for lossless music and CPU usage is not a problem, then how would you best set it for the highest possible quality? I ask because I just noticed that at default it is set for mp3 and it seems to remove extra samples, not what I want when playing lossless files.

@shckrck: There's a preset for that! (If you use the separate Declipper product, otherwise let me know and I'll look up the settings).

@MilkyJoe: VST is usually used by professional users, Winamp by hobby users. So that's why I don't intend to make a cheaper VST license (in fact, Stereo Tool - even the basic functions that are free in Winamp - is not free in the VST version either).

Which preset is it, Hans? Looks like all of them have this mp3 sample removing.

Do You hear difference ?

Yes, I do. It's slightly noticeable setting it to 0 samples removal, compared to the 1 sample removal default setting on by when playing a lossless file. Especially with headphone listening. I also hear a difference when I move the percentage slider. If there was no difference, I guess it wouldn't have been there in the first place, for it would have been easier to just set it fixed to always remove 1 sample internally, instead of making two sliders that 'do nothing'.

I decided to have an End-of-the-World sale!
http://register.stereotool.com/

The declipper is now 70 euro instead of 100.
Other prices are lower, or price increases (due to the release of the much improved version 7.00) are delayed a few days.

I have a de-clipper question.
In Stereo tool many of the Generic presets(10 I think) turn the declipper on by default. Why is this?If you use these Generic presets do you need the De Clipper for optimum results?I´m after the best sound quality possible.
If for example I was to use Bochas Eu4ria without the declipper what would be the effect on processed audio?

Default de-clipper settings should be already best tuned.
As name say.. without de-clipper, clipped audio will be not de-clipped, but aloso de-clipper knows to add bit of "openess" to some softly clipped sounds.

@bob: You know what the declipper does, right?
