Ok - what did you do?!? And is that with BETA2 or BETA3?

beta3 (now beta2)

I have last 3 sliders in EQ: 0.86, 1.21, 3.15 dB .. now only last is at 2.43 (15.5kHz low pass)
First 3 EQ sliders was: 0.34, 1.91, 1.38 dB... now only first one is at 0.34

First slider is at 0.34 but loudness bass boost is at 60%.. on stream PC i don't use loudness so only First EQ slider is at 2.97dB.
Last slider for stream is 0dB - was 1.56

sound is softer now and i like it
For me this is now more then good... + much less latency for processing.

Only thing is CPU usage.
is it possible to set affinity to processes and balance the core usage ..
And why i can use max 100% cpu power. max is 60%.

edit:
I have another E5200 cpu in test pc... but overclocked to 3GHz .. whole day work without drop and "block overlap 50% .. FM, fm overdrive .. all is ON. Transmitter PC woth same E5200 cpu but 2,5GHz is around 20%.

Right now only 1 core is used - Windows may spread it over 2 cores, but only 1 is used at the same time - which explains the maximum 60% CPU usage (MPX overshoot is done on a different core).

Do you hear a difference between BETA2 and BETA3? I'm now building a new version that combines what I think are the benefits of both versions...

Since there's still a difference between v4.22 and BETA2/3, I'm going to create an extra setting where the last few steps of the Loudness filter are done with a longer latency (still MUCH lower than before, because it's only a few filtering steps). Using that setting, the load will also be spread better over 2 CPU's.

Note: Overlap on 20% should be enough! (or do you hear a difference?)

Post subject:  Re: Low latency secondary input (microphone)

I have created yet another version, where the benefits of BETA2 and BETA3 _should_ be combined (I really need those new headphones!).

Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... BETA3A.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA3A.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... BETA3A.dll

Expectation: Better sound than BETA2, as good as or better sound than BETA3.

Coming up later: Version with more latency for Loudness filter.

i'll wait that version with more latency in loudness. Seems to me like a good idea!

Building it now!

Post subject:  Re: Low latency secondary input (microphone)

BETA3A (!) now contains this update.

Based on a frequency analysis, the output should be nearly identical to that of v4.22. No more increased highs etc.

See the quality/latency window, there's now a new setting for increased latency.

Note: This does show that the difference between v4.22 and BETA3(A) is caused by the last few processing steps of the Loudness filter. I'll see if I can figure out what the difference is...

Edit: Note regarding the CPU load: I think there's no reason to set the overlap higher than 20% at setting 4096 (at lower settings there IS a reason to set it higher). I'm going to add a new slider (actually the slider is already there, but it doesn't do anything yet) that should also reduce the CPU load with little effect on the sound (at least that's what I hope).

I see a 38KHz carrier on the output which should not be there.
