Hilbert transform seems to work now! And I found & fixed another bug that could cause weird behavior and clicks in the output. We'll see what's next.

Dual core clicking in SSB mode is now completely gone (channel separation in SSB mode is around 70 dB). Hilbert transform mode added, but I would advice against using it (based on what I heard from others many radios have problems receiving this signal, also the clipper is having a hard time). The good news here is that I can use the 'pure' Hilbert transform version to make something less pure that's better than the current SSB mode. Not sure how useful it it, but it's worth a try.

Tomorrow I'll look into my idea to improve the performance.

IMPORTANT: To get a good sound from the composite clipper:
1. Enable it :) It's an option under Advanced Clipper
2. Under Advanced Clipper -> CPU, set 'Strictness' to 20 (at least above 10; check how much your CPU can handle) and Stronger Clipping to around 25-30%.

Warning:
You will need a license update to use this! Otherwise the 'unregistered options in use' thingy will pop up, and you'll get messages through the music (every 4 hours).

Output is constant RED with Hilbert transform on. and MPX is more than 100%.

This is not a criticism of Stereo Tool in anyway.

I question any overall benefit to using SSB, i saw one youtube video where
the difference WAS noticeable. I will be able to test SSB in a known bad multipath
area soon.

I do notice a very tiny, if not imperceptible difference in fringe listenability with SSB on, but ST does that mostly
on its own anyway without SSB on...when compared to most box processors from 10 plus years ago. Just an opinion.

So I have something wrong on my PC's? because still mpx tool shows ~30dB on pink noise, standard dssb is out of range of mpx tool >70dB...
I did some phase calibration +2,65deg 23-38khz in ST and get 70dB

I do too. But people are asking for it, and it's not that much effort to add it. And without proper testing we'll never know. On the other hand, with SSB enabled the multipath clipper has less effect on the audio, which is good, and I *do* expect benefits from it for very high frequencies (hence the partial SSB mode where frequencies about 12666 Hz are fully SSB, but not below).

That's strange. Might be - I don't know - a small deviation in the pilot/stereo coupling in MPXtool. Or in Stereo Tool... That would have bigger effects on SSB than on DSB - I think.

Anyway, inside Stereo Tool, where I don't have that issue (since I *know* how my pilot and stereo carrier are created so I don't have to detect coupling) I see 70 dB.

It could also be caused by "Hard Limit" - have you tried measuring with Hard Limit disabled, output level low enough to avoid sound card output clipping distortion?


Edit: If it IS indeed the pilot/stereo coupling detection in MPXTool, I would expect DSB stereo separation to increase also when you use this calibration!

hmm maybe time corelation depends with hardware? I tuned only 23-38kHz range not pilot and get 70dB
Avery thing was tested with wav file pink noise one channe silence, no stereo boost etc, no visible clipping on spectrum in mpx tool

If I just turn on the same calibration on DSB separaion is poor...
Maybe it's very strange, but it happens

Have you tried Hilbert mode? Other modes could have some issues....
