Great! Are there no other (low frequency, like bass popping) artifacts in return? (I didn't notice any when testing it, but I did expect them - that's why I had turned a part of the pre-ringing filter turned off in the first place).

Actually there is, like bass is overclipped. But i would certainly choose beta 108 over 107. |

Ok, I guess I should at least allow low frequency post-ringing (!) then. That's FAR less noticeable than pre-ringing.Also I'll play a bit with some settings that determine how much pre-ringing is allowed. I might actually get away with a much higher value (lowering it had VERY little effect on the amount of pre-ringing). |

Quote: Quote: Quote: So.. I have two pictures here that show difference with 44100Hz and 48000Hz as the input samplerate. Can you notice the "harmonics" in MPXTool when using 44100Hz? They do not appear when using 48000Hz, something with the resampler (is there any or is some Windows framework used to resample?).. Bandpass filter is set to ridiculous settings, it helps to see the problem. Also, input is clipping when using 48000hz, why? I was only playing music from Spotify..
Yes you probably doin wrong with the sample rates . I was at this issue about a year ago and Hans told me to check the sample rates (my mistake was in the Virtual cable ) ..... solved !Thanks to Hans(None of the "harmonics" show on the Stereo Tool spectrum!) 44.1kHz: http://modulator.kapsi.fi/kuvat/44khz.jpg 48kHz: http://modulator.kapsi.fi/kuvat/48khz.jpg Or am I doing something wrong? So.. Stereo Tool opens input and output, but how can the input samplerate setting ruin the output afterwards? It seems very mysterious to me |

Quote: How can they be wrong? VAC settings are 44100..192000, and when I set Stereo Tool to 44100Hz the VAC control panel shows that it's opened as 44100, and MPX output pipeline is opened as 192000.. how can the Windows SRC ruin it like this??
If Stereo Tool's input is set to 44.1 kHz, it will always output 176.4 kHz, not 192 kHz... So that might be the issue here.So.. Stereo Tool opens input and output, but how can the input samplerate setting ruin the output afterwards? It seems very mysterious to me If you use the stand alone version anyway, you could switch the input to 48 kHz, then you'll get 192 kHz output. (176.4 = 4*44.1, 192 = 4*48 - resampling using these values is easier and faster). |

beta108 = pump effect are back (skipped 5,6,7). This version is again more sensitive to deep bass compared to 104. I made a record, first 2 min recorded with 104, second 2 min with 108. Same presets, bass boost off. Quality 48kHz/320. http://www.filefactory.com/file/cd6be87 ... 04-108.mp3 If you just listen with windows media player, u can hear the difference. 104 is still better for me. |
