Quote: I'm not too sure though if putting too much effort into getting better performance from some product from some vendor is a good idea - since it could very well be that decisions were made by the Intel compiler team that are causing things in my software to be less optimized.
Indeed, it "could" be because of changes by the compiler team. Where you and I appear to not agree is on leaving it at thinking that it "could" be the cause, rather than knowing that it "is" the cause.Like I said, I know that going down that path is essentially all cost and no immediate revenue. It is, however, an effort that should be undertaken - that is to definitively determine if it is an internal design of the compiler and/or libraries, or if it is code that could be further refined. All I'm suggesting is that you give it due consideration. |

Quote: In the latest Windows SA Beta I am getting clicks after about 20 - 25 minutes. Hitting the Restart Sound card button fixes it.
ASIO or non ASIO?Is the buffer display showing that it's emptying? |

I think that buffer is emptying in some time long ( NON-ASIO ) No numbers for M and X too. Will continue to look at it .May be some other CPU loadings caused that . Will see that. |

Buffer IS emptying. Confirmed in Stand Alone. Settings are equal - but before it`s NOT emptying ,but now IS. |

Clicks are gone, crash is fixed. http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-024 But I hear a beep every few seconds and this version appears to be a lot slower (although it might be that my test pc is misbehaving). |

Clicks are indeed gone! And, I don't hear any beeps.http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-024 But I hear a beep every few seconds and this version appears to be a lot slower (although it might be that my test pc is misbehaving). This version still crashes sometimes when loading settings from a file. For example, when I load in the Hard Solution-preset from the forum-preset-section, ST freezes (although the JACK-backend seems to work further, because the dots are still printed out in the terminal after freeze). Edit: I don't have the feeling that this version appears to be slower than the last one. |

Some time ago, I think it was said that there was "no way" that the last used preset would just say "PRESET". Well: Load any preset you want. After it is loaded, right-click on the preset name. "PRESET", FTW! I don't think it does anything except change the text, but it shouldn't change the text. It also does not survive a shutdown of the GUI and relaunch, but, again, it just shouldn't change the text. Similarly, some of the preset sub-sections are selectable too, and will load their text into that area. The section header should not be selectable. |
