Tell me that you never saw any decent broadcast processor, like omnia, orban, vorsis, dsp-x.. etc.. ?!the lower the DB`s must be the lower(down) sided , 0 db is at the top of every indicator . If the indicator is vertical , the 0db is at the right side? We are not in india or arabic world right ? to replace the sides . Or atleas you know about BBP? Or maybe you know about simple Behringer MDX2200 or MDX 2600, where dominates full RED meter called :"gain reduction" (attenuation) ? Anyway .. will explain to you in short... Since all filters type like AGC, MB. limiters, clipper.. actually do "Attenuation" meter is 'reversed'. and one color. |

Vertical displays now! (Horizontal ones are also still there in the MENU panel). http://www.stereotool.com/download/633-013E.zip |

Horizontal ones are much better. The GUI now looks saturated, with too much information. |

Lol! Everyone says something else... ![]() - Bars coming from top or right: This is how every other manufacturer does it. I must say I also have to get used to it, and also to the fact that things are now displayed in dB's instead of multiplication factor (attenuation). Anyway, to make Stereo Tool easier to use for people who are used to working with other products, I really need to do this. I could support 2 different modes, but I expect that after getting used to it this new display is fine. Also, the vertical bars at the bottom have one very big advantage: They can always be displayed, regardless of what you're doing in the top part of the window. So, for example, if you change the AGC target level you can immediately see how that affects Multiband and Loudness. |

Yes Vertical And Bojcha said that there is an attenuation , but no ST displays in dB`s , so bars must coming up from bottom to top or from left to right / see Sound Forge/. So horizontal bars are a kind of non-original even for seeing it. Bojcha said that BBP and so on and so on..... that uses this type of bars coming from up to down . I think that ST MUST be different from all others !!! Did you think so ? Why ST to be like all ? I cannot agree ! |

hvz, I think you should let the user decide if he wants vertical or horizontal meters in the Stereo Tool's configurations. |

I said I could understand the meters set up that way (inverted from previous), as I do understand it is referencing attenuation, but that it could confuse people. Now you're saying that people who use other products were confused by how you were doing things previously. To be blunt, if people are unable to understand either type of display, then that is a failing of their own ability to examine the visual behavior of something and work out what it means. This is something very different from multiplication values vs. decibels, as it is a purely visual aspect. Don't force either way. Allow people to choose which way they want. That makes your product "flexible", where as other products may be "inflexible". |

I must agree with "flexibility" of the ST, but we must know that every flexibility is provided with more work and coding , right? But i know that vertical bars are in every product / software or hardware/. So we are here to help/navigate Hans , but in fact final decision is in his hands ![]() |
