BETA620-015:
VST settings now saved as well
Highpass filter: Non phase linear: Steepness now configurable. And I've increased the 'ripple' level a bit to increase the filter steepness without bigger phase effects.

EDIT: OOPS - I BUILT THIS ONE WITHOUT INCREASED RIPPLE! STARTING A REBUILD NOW!

Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 20-015.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 20-015.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 20-015.dll
VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 20-015.dll
Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 20-015.exe
Linux command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA620-015 NOT AVAILABLE
Linux GUI version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA620-015 NOT AVAILABLE

TODO:
- Fix loading changed multiband frequencies
- Add buffer and filter for SCA output (SCA1 ok, SCA2 ok)
- Finish AGC improvement - make mono value configurable (replace checkbox by slider) 1 hour --> NO, not needed - anything else needed? -> NO
- Fix Punch
- Check what to do with new filters (such as bass AGC) - keep them, remove them, change them? --> KEEP
- Save new BASS_AGC setting in VST mode
- Loudness: Annoying cracking sound in bass. Slightly present in 5.00, worse in 6.00, maybe even worse in 6.10. Only when bass is too loud. Much worse than in Final Limiter (at same input level!) - so this clearly indicates a bug. Most likely cause: The filter that was added to remove bass artifacts....... - No, it's the louder bass. But it can be fixed by changing some settings. Default settings updated, and behavior for 'not Very strict' improved. Also Deep bass boost and Very deep bass protection are enabled for latency 512 now.
- Update presets? (BASS_AGC etc.)
- Change version number 1 hour
- Release 1 hour

BETA620-016:
Increased non-phase linear highpass filter ripple again.
Note: New 'Order' setting is not saved yet.

Are you sure it's the last 3 versions? Looking back in the history I've made some bigger changes in BETA011 - but not afterwards. And in 009 I repaired Punch.

The change in BETA011 was supposed to REMOVE some crunchy sound that was present in version 6.10 also.

Does this crunchy sound occur when loud bass sounds are fed into Loudness?

Its after Beta09.. and i think its on Bass on big loudness... i am checking this 2 days now and i cant find it.. :( I noticed thats its on the part of a track where only deep bass is present..
And i think its more noticeable on 2048 latency than 1024, if this can help you more..

Where is it ?

edit: Ah, it's in DSP, not in standalone.

Makes sense. (Well a bit at least). In version 6.10, Punch was broken. Now it's working again - but in some cases it can introduce artifacts. I had created a filter to get rid of those - but apparently it doesn't cover the track you're talking about.

Can you tell me:
- Which track
- Where in that track
- Which settings?

To get the same sound as before, you could move the Clean/Punch slider all the way to Clean (that switches this filter off). But Punch should work...

Woops. I excluded some windows that are not needed for the DSP version (such as the sound cards window) from the build. Apparently Visual Studio automatically decided to split all the windows in 2 and make copies of them. And I didn't know that so I just edited one.

OK, i done some quick test with HPF, later more.

What's the point here is that i found some track are meking voice and other distortions at non-phase HPF, and some track are makeing disatortion in Phase-linear HPF.
What i was think is that something in the middle will make it good for most tracks.

With HPF i was thinking more like better and nice "slope"!
HPF is starting from about 40Hz and nicely go to 0Hz, but still allowing deep bass if needed, recovered by EQ or Bass boost, but again something like precise Parametric EQ is needed before MB.

Anyway i'll test again this HPF, but first results is not promissing.

btw, Why higher ripple? That should be low as possible >?<

Here is video explenation why i don't like this non-phase linear HPF.
However, Phase Linear HPF is not "strong" enough.

In rar is video and test audio file (played in loop)
Used only Bandpass filter.
