Just tested beta92 (VST) - highs, vocals are cleaner. More airy. But substantially less strict clipping even if the slider is all the way to the right. This is in comparison to beta89. Slamming bass sounds bad in beta92. |

I suppose that's with the 2nd shortcuts checkbox enabled?

As in the one meant for Upsampling? The preset with which I am testing has Upsampling disabled. So, that doesn't seem like having any effect irrespective of whether it's toggled ON or OFF.

Ow? Same one as before, just with clearer descriptions ![]() till beta91 was better. I other hand, seems to much better and more are protected highs, maybe too much. And still remains same question. why fixed frequency 0-300Hz? same in all erlier betas. |

Quote: No I meant the 2nd shortcuts checkbox. The 2nd one below the strictness slider.
Apologies for brevity in my question, but I meant the same - the check box for taking shortcuts for Upsampling. Currently, the settings I am using doesnot employ upsampling. The check box for taking shortcuts for CPU, does not have any (perceptible) effect.I can describe the beta92 sound as 'too much unclipped sub-bass'...sounds weird... and kills the punch. I like the cleaner highs of this beta though. Overall I liked beta89 the most. Skipped the intermediate ones. |

Well I guess it must be the simplifications then. Although I don't understand that you say it's clipping far less strictly - if I look at the output it looks pretty strict here... And the simplifications don't affect the clipping strictness at all. |

Allowed graininess should be x2.00 (which is also better), except for that, yes. I can confirm now that some sounds are not handled well at all by the new filter: The mina04 track sounds _great_ if I don't turn any other processing on and only use Loudness, but if I turn everything off it suddenly doesn't work anymore. Dunno why. I'm at Leifs place now finishing the declipper library for the Omnia 9, so I don't have time to look into it - maybe later tonight. |
