With the 13A version, the core work with similar charges (the core 2 has a little under load, but the difference is ~ 10-15%). Also improved the overall CPU load in a ~ 10%, now the average CPU load was 50% above the 60% (same preset). Good job! ![]() P.S.: I have not compared with version 13. |

Not big diff, but "A" version is with less cpu load, i guess that version will stay. |

The difference in CPU load should not be that big... But I'm going for the A version indeed. Which means that I can now remove some now obsolete code. |

Have you had an opportunity to consider more test platforms? One newer, and one older, specifically with an older K8-core AMD (I think Bojcha's X2 system is K8-based)?Possibly it doesn't matter AMD vs. Intel, but more specifically less than 2MB L2 cache per core. All I know is that when you quote single-digit levels, I can generally double whatever you quote, at a minimum. For example, you quoted 6%. I'm not sure if that is a delta or absolute, but I can tell you that same settings gives me a 25% delta (25% increase), or about 10% absolute (40 -> 50 in Task Manager, sometimes as high as 55). |

Uhm... With the *new* settings I actually measured a *decrease* of 6% (11.2% -> 10.6%) on my system. With the old settings it's a 3% increase (so to around 11.5%). Are you getting an increase with the new settings too?? Another (small) CPU load reduction step is coming up. |

The "new" settings are essentially the same as the "old" settings. I might be seeing a 1% total variance, but that is +/- of where it used to be. For example, I'd see 35-40 for "old", and am now seeing 34-40...I don't think you're going to see P4/K8 drop any lower than where it's at right now due to L2 limitations, unless you start disabling several things, like multiband and loudness. |

It's just me, or Beta 13A got a "sound texture" that other versions of Stereo Tool don't have? Everything sounds so much full of life, highly defined, even with bad recordings. |

Hm, who knows... Bojcha and I couldn't hear any difference between 013 and 013A, but that doesn't necessarily mean that no-one can. (Does "other versions" include 013?)Actually I have some more code changes that I made a few days ago but haven't posted yet, after reading this I guess I should post them tonight just to make sure that nobody hears a deterioration... |
