can you make if so you can put it to x70 if needed....just that some times in vids and music its been recorded so low that putting it up to x40 is just not high enough, if you cant don't worry about it.

like a preamp boost of some-kind that will not interfere with anything else in stereotool.?
I though x40 was already insane... You can edit the .STS files manually if you want to increase the level further (you can set it as loud as you want).

Does this (a manually edited .STS) work for EQ levels in multiband in the same manner ?

thanks for the info on that Hans...had a play with the .sts file and was able to change the x40 to x70..no problem....

Yes. It works for most things (just be careful with values like '0', they could potentially even cause crashes)

I'm wondering.

Some time ago I wrote that I wanted to redesign the Multiband filter based on AGC behavior.

But now I'm wondering.
- For the high frequencies, there was already 'AGC band 3', which can be used to reduce loud highs. This seems to improve the sound.
- For the bass frequencies, there's now the new 'AGC bass' filter, which also seem to help.

There's nothing yet for the mid frequencies. So I'm wondering, maybe adding that is exactly what's needed?

The Multiband filter can still remain to give the sound the specific 'feeling' - but these AGC's could then be used to do the initial less-than-10 band filtering. Which also limits the maximum reduction in Multiband, which in turn should improve the audio quality.

That shold be good if you want to make preset "flat" to get end maximum loudness.
But what about if dynamic preset is needed and/or higher bass with nicely limited and constant mid and highs.

Multiband core is problem actually.

....Somewhere on "avarage mid" reducion should be "0dB", spot where threshold should be keept. More reduction need to do 2x 3x more reduction... ratio...
That should make loud tracks lower and overall constant MB output ... for Loudness filter.

BETA620-014:
AGC Bass: 'remove remaining peaks above' slider working now
AGC Bass settings saved (not yet in VST version)
SCA settings saved (not relevant for VST version)

Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 20-014.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 20-014.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 20-014.dll
VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 20-014.dll
Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 20-014.exe
Linux command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA620-014 NOT AVAILABLE
Linux GUI version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA620-014 NOT AVAILABLE

TODO:
- Fix loading changed multiband frequencies
- Add buffer and filter for SCA output (SCA1 ok, SCA2 ok)
- Finish AGC improvement - make mono value configurable (replace checkbox by slider) 1 hour --> NO, not needed - anything else needed? -> NO
- Fix Punch
- Check what to do with new filters (such as bass AGC) - keep them, remove them, change them? --> KEEP
- Save new BASS_AGC setting in VST mode
- Loudness: Annoying cracking sound in bass. Slightly present in 5.00, worse in 6.00, maybe even worse in 6.10. Only when bass is too loud. Much worse than in Final Limiter (at same input level!) - so this clearly indicates a bug. Most likely cause: The filter that was added to remove bass artifacts....... - No, it's the louder bass. But it can be fixed by changing some settings. Default settings updated, and behavior for 'not Very strict' improved. Also Deep bass boost and Very deep bass protection are enabled for latency 512 now.
- Update presets? (BASS_AGC etc.)
- Change version number 1 hour
- Release 1 hour
