Cannot start it. Also tried sudo getlibs stereo_tool_beta, but getlibs is not installed and when I try to install it, the system warns me that it could damage something, so I canceled it. Quote: Next step is to make inputs/outputs configurable, once that works I can also enable low latency and FM outputs and SCA inputs.
Nice would be when you can use datapipe-input via stdin and output to JACK after processing, or get input-audio from JACK and output L/R or MPX via stdout-datapipe after processing.

Sometimes channels are swapped in last standalone, restart fixes it. Normal output no asio. Not tested FM. |

Linux version with FM (including stereo and RDS) and Low Latency audio: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-021 Note: To use for FM, set the Jack samplerate to 192000 and the Stereo Tool sample rate too! (I still have to write code to detect the Jack sample rate and use it, and disable the current sample rate dropdown menu). Also, make sure that buffer sizes are *below* 1 second (AT one second is already bad). I hear a clicking sound in the FM output (not always, seems to be related to stereo sounds). Not sure yet what's causing this, could be that my CPU cannot handle it or there's a real bug somewhere (so I'm curious if others hear it too). It might also be related to the issue that Bojcha reported - I will try to fix that first and see if it fixes the clicking sound. Hint: To use with realtime priority, you need to start jackd or qjackctl as superuser (using sudo). If you do that, you also need to start Stereo Tool with sudo or it cannot connect to Jack! |

Hans, while your freshly working on the sound device code, a reminder about your intention to raise sound device input resolution to 24 bit - assisting audio quality for those of us increasingly using a 24 bit facility wide -20dbfs nominal operating level (i.e. Axia AoIP environments etc). Is that likely to be in this version? Thanks |

It works http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... ETA724-021 ![]() ![]() That's absolutely cool, the MPX from ST via JACK directly into the USRP. No soundcard needed, goes directly on FM ![]() But, some minor problems: - when I close ST, it just freezes itself - when I minimize ST or change the workspace, ST crashes and puts out this on the terminal: Code: stereo_tool_beta: ControlsPanel.h:626: void ControlsPanel::set_pixel(int, int, int32_t): Zusicherung »x<bufferWidth« nicht erfüllt. You don't hear this clicking sound? |

I don't hear and see nothing clicking on the MPX-spectrum of my USRP-application when screwing the pre-amplifier down to -99 dB. Even the Pira-Mod-Monitor shows 0,0 kHz deviation!BTW: that graphical refresh-issue I had with the previous linux-beta is gone now! The meters are working normal now, just like i know it from the windows-version ![]() |

When I lower the volume it's gone as well, but it's clearly noticeable on my test system (which has issues handling the CPU load so it could be related to that. And it also was gone at some moments.) - multiple clicks per second. If you had them too you would have noticed. Odd that the redraw thing is fixed - I didn't change anything! The other issues you reported (hang on close: True, I didn't implement that yet - and the crash on minimize - I guess the function that I call to get the window size returns a too small number which causes crashes) should be easy to fix. I also still have an issue with dropdown menu's: When drawing the screen takes too much time the whole program becomes unresponsive (audio keeps working but I cannot change anything). I cannot really work on or further test the clicking before next Tuesday (that's when I'll be back in my office, where my test system is). So I won't do too much this weekend. (Or who knows, I might decide to go to my office on Sunday if I don't have anything else to do). |

The Linux version is already ok, I need to fix it for the 2 Windows interfaces as well. This will require some testing and looking up details though.
