I enable them just to observe the result (I could only get about 10% extra positive modulation, far the less than the 200% I set it for)) but then disabled it. If the positives and negatives are the dark area above and below the display, it looks like there is slightly more dark area above the display than below.

There are (thin) lines on the top and bottom that indicate 0 dB, and on both sides the signal reaches exactly that point. So the output looks perfect.

Can you tell me exactly when this problem started? Because you first said that it was in one of the new beta's, but then you suggested that it might have been caused by the asymmetrical AM clipping, which I added in version 7.24 and is also available in the 7.24 release version. If possible, could you re-check with version 7.24 to make sure that it's not something else in your setup that changed around the time that you updated?

(Btw: About your test with asymmetric clipping: I never implemented it for composite clipping, so some pre-clipping steps are probably still doing it but the final clipping step is not).
I'm not so sure now. I jumped from 7.24 directly to 7.25 and when I went back, I still saw the few % of difference between + and -. For now, let's assume it's something in my setup...I'll advise if that is not the case.
It seems to be something peculiar to the preset I am using (it's a self written preset). When I return to a preset that I created with 7.24, the overshoots don't exist. I requested the ability to display all the settings of each preset on a spreadsheet in an effort to spot what oddball setting may be contributing to the overshoots.

I am testing 7.25 beta 005 Windows standalone.
Hans, is it correct that at AGC the option difference doesn't work?

Natural Dynamics works great at an old Core2Duo 2,33 GHz (without FM and Advanced clipper off course)

New MAC version:
http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 25-006.zip

Should now start the 'default' Mac way (no need to chmod etc.). And window is movable and can be closed.

Note: RDS encoding doesn't work. For some reason the Mac compiler doesn't understand binary numbers...

The new version opens up with the menu bar hidden, it get's vissible when i move it downward. Then it crashes when i try to resize the window. CMD+Q is not working to close the program. And when i quit it with clicking the red button it is still active in the tray.

What do you mean by 'menu bar', the top bar? So it opens outside the visible area of the screen? It shouldn't do that, I'm telling it to open at the default location (before that was (0,0) which caused exactly the issue that you're describing).

Crash on resize -> true. I need to check why. The same code - with the same GUI framework - works under Linux!

CMD+Q - didn't even know that combination, I would expect such things to be handled by the OS (equal to pressing the red button) but apparently it's not...

Red button: Something is hanging, which causes the thing to stay there. For now, right-click on the icon and close it.

Red button in Mac way means: closing window, not closing application!
Hans, if you can program in the upper menubar a "Stop Stereo-tool" (CMD-Q), that's like F4 in Windows, then we can quit the program at the normal way.
Menu bar is perfectly visible at my Mac, at the position all program's has this.

At the moment: quit the program to go below in the dock and do ctrl-mouse click, or right mouse-click.

BETA725-007:
Windows Winamp: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 25-007.exe
Windows stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 25-007.exe
Windows VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 25-007.dll

Changes:
- Multiband and Natural Dynamics: Flat Frequency Response improved. See the thin lines in the 'Bands' graph.
- Natural Dynamics: Initial detection: Added a 'follow speed' slider. Higher values means that the filter 'stabilizes' faster, this means that the boost of constant loud tones drops much faster. The thing that moves faster is the level above which boosting occurs.
- Natural Dynamics: Punch detection filter: Added a slider that reduces the effect if the punch is already really strong.
- Some MAC compatibility issues (code is changed for Windows too)

TODO:
- Mac: Crash on resize: display_vu_meters_internal call probably must be moved to message loop. (how?). Is not executing DURING the resize which causes hangup (known Mac issue). Might also fix the warnings when calling IsMaximized.
- Mac: Closing (hangs in wxEntry)
- Mac: Priorities
- Mac: Menu bar with Close APPLE+Q -> wxEntry exits but rest of software doesn't -> crashes.
- Mac: Cleanup named semaphores on exit
- Mac: RDS binary values
- Multiband/ND: Cleanup small spikes in Flat Frequency Response graph.
- Default settings for ND
- Add presets
- Linux: Test if everything still works.
- Mac: VST: Child window support. Difficult... Maybe later!
- Mac: Cursors not supported. (Keep like that for now).

Really? Then how do you get the window back if you want to see it again?
