Analog input only. Sorry, by digital output what I really mean is MPX into an FM transmitter.

It all seems to be running well, meters for both analog and digital input are OK but still no output via RCA/BNC.

SHould I try disabling the analog output in favor of FM/digital/MPX only? Does ST ever default to one or the other even if I route the audio differently in the Marian Trace Alpha?

I am just completely confused now. What is FM/digital/MPX? MPX is almost always analog (only a few transmitters supports MPX over an AES/EBU digital connection, but the Trace Alpha doesn't have AES/EBU so you can't mean that).

And how are you routing things in the Trace Alpha?

My apologies, Hans, it is my naivete which is confusing you, totally my fault.
Yes, I realized today that MPX is analog; the Marian Trace Alpha has two sets of outputs, 1/4 TRS paired for analog, and RCA paired which I have been calling "digital" but really what I mean is different analog/MPX. Again, sorry.

I have to go back and look at the MTA hardware to see if all my internal jumper settings are OK, I did NOT change any, assuming that default settings were good enough...

Routing: Input from Analog 1-2
Normal Output: Play 1-2 to ASIO Output 1-2
FM Output: Play 1-2 to ASIO Output 3-4

Trace Alpha Outputs: Analog: Play 1-2
S/PDIF Audio: Play 3-4 (analog)

Ah, a big ST thank you to Bob Hawkins who helped me through a major stumbling block: The MTA composite output is via the 1/4" outputs, NOT the RCA outputs as I was expecting.
Next challenge will be to improve the deviation - only getting 32Khz on my first (brief) test.
Thanks again BOb!

I usually use 9-10 for asio on Marian, since it's on separate route ;)

Interesting - output right?

Post subject:  MTA: FM, and normal output (was Re: Marian Trace Alpha Creating Asio Buffer Failed)

OK, I've got ST in the airchain (community radio LPFM).
Marian Trace Alpha, sending FM MPX via MTA output 2 to transmitter.
MTA mixer is input on Analog 1-2 then Play 1-2; output to Analog.
Right now, I have the same FM output on MTA output 1 for streaming audio... but haven't quite figured out if/how to send "Normal" Output to output 1 instead (sound is a bit bright, probably the pre-emphasis?)

Should I be looking at an ST setting or a mixer setting or both?
