Hi Hans, I use the bass-efx for a HipHop station. It gives for some songs just that extra bass touch. You're correct, it doesn't give you the effect of pressing the loudness knob for example. To me it sounds like an extra long bass kick on some songs. I love to see an extra nice bass handle in Stereotool. Rap guys have never enough bass ![]() |

ok.. i tested all again ... first.. bass-efx ... first i notice that in multiban clip control is les .. so this bass-efx doing something like that. . clip plus like Hans told.. les time on max level... but ... i again have sam level of bass sound on ST output... and soemtimes distortion.. i tryed Hans method... but i have huge distortion .. even if i put loudness to 2.30.. maybe better result if i put "Compress" in multiband then "Limit" Next ... i load "FM Europe Stereo" then i realise how bad sound was after all changes...this sound agan "normal" So how to enhance ..that low bass... First i think all wants that ultra low bass, we can found bass like that in r'n'b music. Trick is that not evry song will be like that whatever we put and set. i found some good and simple combination how to push that bass little.. but loudness must be MAX 2.0 (even lower) because distortion. And that is something like what Hans wrote.. in few minutes i'll upload preset .. just to check it better. |

Hi Bojcha, Thanks a lot. About that bass-efx plugin I found an explanation here: http://www.ceaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=610 I don't use the loudness at all. |

Here it is .. basstest01 it's for winamp plugin. Loudness is at x1.40 i think it's safe to x1.80. Without loudnes push Final Limiter a bit. |

Quote: Hi Bojcha,
Yup, this explanation seems to make sense. As you can see in the impulse graph, frequencies are spread out such that the higher frequencies (for which the ears are more sensitive to time shifts) are played first, and the lowest part is delayed most. Thanks a lot. About that bass-efx plugin I found an explanation here: http://www.ceaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=610 I don't use the loudness at all. For longer bass sounds (which I used for testing) this is not very useful, but I can imagine that in rap music etc. short low clicks can benefit greatly from this change. In dance music the bass usually already has a shape like this, and the extra processing won't help (and I've tested it on dance music and some older tracks, which were produced using real instruments instead of electronically generated clicks - real instruments also don't really seem to benefit from this). I've added a remark about rap music to my list (see previous page) of things to do and check for better bass. |

Bojcha, have you tried how these badly distorted settings sound with the patched version?

Badly distorted in this last my preset? How that can be? i do quick test right now .. and can't hear much difference .. but i think i can hear less distortion,. but that is "maybe" One moment is same as original v4.10 .. and in other less distortion... i don't know what to think... Maybe i can better test it if it is standalone to put in on our main transmintter. from ~20 song i mostly keep listening this one: http://beemp3.com/download.php?file=614 ... g=Break+Up |

No, I meant my preset i do quick test right now .. and can't hear much difference .. but i think i can hear less distortion,. but that is "maybe" One moment is same as original v4.10 .. and in other less distortion... i don't know what to think... Maybe i can better test it if it is standalone to put in on our main transmintter. from ~20 song i mostly keep listening this one: http://beemp3.com/download.php?file=614 ... g=Break+Up ![]() If you hear little difference but maybe slightly less distortion: That's what I expected. If the distortion gets very bad, the new version clearly has far less distortion (but the bass may sound off-tune). The question here is: Which of the two sounds better in the end... |

Generaly there is nothing wrong with your preset Hans, i just think there is too much loudness. And i think the only solution for more bass is loudness down and "allow louder lows" up, plus other bass settings. After all i played Breakaway Broadcast .. most favorite preset "plutonium" gives much lower output level then ST with little less loudnes. But in ST i can fine tune that bass and others. I listen again today new and default ST v4.10 and unfortunately i can't hear difference. |

Just to make sure what you're saying here... Is the output level much lower or do you mean that there's much more low? I would think the first, but I don't understand why you add the "ST with little less loudness"...About the bass level: Someone here said that the Orbans have more bass. I was assuming that that's at the same loudness (but I might be wrong to assume that). If the Orbans do indeed have more bass, then it must also be possible in software. If you had asked me two years ago, I would probably have told you that the output of Stereo Tool couldn't be made much louder than it was at the time. And I didn't have a Loudness slider yet back then... So I'm not going to say anymore that it's not possible to make the sound (or just the bass) louder than it is at the moment, although making it louder is getting increasingly more difficult as the loudness level is going up. |
