How long is the integration time, i.e. the time it remembers preceding input? Can this be set by the user? (I don't talk about block size, that's current input.)

It doesn't remember preceding input. It only responds to what's coming in now (taking block size into account).

When the AGC approaches the target level it gets slower. Will it always converge or can it get stuck?

E.g. with extremely low speeds and a constant level tone will the AGC always reach the exact target level after some (maybe long) time or can the speed become essentially zero earlier, therefore staying at a wrong level forever?

In other words: Is there a minimum speed to assure convergence under all circumstances?

It should always converge eventually.

For one preset I don't want to use the AGC at all but still use the AGC post compressor.
How can I turn off the AGC pre compressor completely (including gate, jump protection, limiter, etc.), i.e. assuring it doesn't have any effect on sound and CPU usage?

PS What number makes the AGC target level exactly zero (87xxx)?

Try to get out of AGC range and use max tresh in compressor.
Also set AGC release to fastest and attacks to slowest speed.

I think i tried that once but sometimes AGC will still kick in sometimes.

Get the AGC to show no g/r and set the speeds to 0 db/s and remove above to 900% (gotta notepad edit the last one);
Set the sudden volume jump protection to 40 db (or any other high value);
Set start input level to 0%.
