Thing is, there is a reason for this standard to be there - it improves reception in some cases. So, it's good to turn it on anywhere, also outside of the Netherlands. But due to the effect it has on the audio that's not a good idea now. Improving this shouldn't be too difficult though. I just need to add a bit of code to analyze the signal, and disable the new filter whenever there are no overshoots - which is probably more than 95% of the time. That should be sufficient. I might also be able to improve the CPU load a bit more if I don't have to filter this much. |

OK, but I still think time should be dedicated to figuring out the performance degradation when upgrading compiler / IPP versions, as well as time spent on documentation. It might be that hiring someone on a temp basis could alleviate pressure. |

I don't know if this has been already mentioned, but I think the BS412-section reacts a bit weird in combination with MPX-Clipper and SSB on. Seems that it detects some peaks that aren't there (in DSB-mode), acts thereby more steeper than necessary, and that leads into a more noticeablely processed sound. Would be nice if you will look into that, too. I'm very interested to use BS412 and SSB together for some field tests within the next days... |

The rf spectrum 'viewer' sound like a cool feature. I imagine that this would give you a theoretical view of what a perfect fm rf generation of the mpx would look like. (Possible non linearities aside?) I wonder what you will calibrate it against internally in ST? I.e. clipping 'zero' point = +- 75 kHz? Might require a calibration checkbox for places that use a different deviation? E.g. +- 50 kHz. Gonna venture into producing an AM 'viewer' too? ![]() |

SSB should not do anything special, however I see that with composite clipping on there's an error: RDS and pilot are taken into account in the protection calculations (ie. the protector expects the audio level to be dropped by about 13%), but because composite clipping is used they should be ignored! Will fix that!

![]() Right: With current Stokkemask clipping enabled. Looks like it's very close... Display filter is not yet ok, because the shape of the bandpass filter used is incorrect. (This means that it works fine for test tones but not for actual music - as can be seen in this image, the spikes are far too 'thin'). Also the CPU load is far too high. But that's an issue for later, it first needs to work properly. |

I don`t know if it`s on my computer , but the warning for the composite clipper is not "mutting" down after check the "checkbox" for not showing anymore. On every startup is there. Anyone else can confirm this? |

Anyone else can confirm this? Good...it's not just me. Yes, mine comes up every time as well despite checking the "do not show again" box countless times.
