to see ... if I understand, for a tone Response 40Hz and 20Hz Speed, not clipping the first half of the cycle, then yes.
For a 80Hz tone and Response same speed, will not be affected only a quarter cycle.
If I understood correctly, this makes the clipping is not applied immediately and some more punch.
The question is, this is not such a small distortion, when a wave is cut in less than half a cycle? or would not be audible?

or my thinking is not correct. :)

@gpagliaroli: The whole clipping behavior is also delayed by the delay time that's configured. So my picture is wrong ( ). Ignore the colored things (I'll change it now).

The image only shows the level calculation - the green line.

What happens next is that this green line is shifted to the right by the amount of delay that's configured. And then any EXTRA clipping above that green line is not performed - so the green line basically shows the MAXIMUM amount of clipping at each moment.

now better understood, I will do some tests to better hear the effect (in the work I have the necessary equipment :( ), but probably tomorrow (today is my birthday). Thanks Hans! ;)

Next version will have a protection step: If the RMS level didn't increase by at least 12.5% the delay filter is switched off. With that you can safely push the response speed to 25 Hz without getting a lot of incorrectly raised clipping levels.

Also fixed bass shape issue (at certain frequencies it caused artifacts and it didn't work at higher frequencies), still need to check if there are no side effects.

Hans,

In my oppinion, this is an CLIPPING DECAY, HOLD function.

In other words, when the clipper treshold is dynamicaly adjusted depending on the applied amplitude level, the clipper treshold stays at it value for a period of time (time depending on setting) before it readjusts.

Please tell me if i am at the right conclusion ?

- Better protection against unwanted clipping level raising in delayed bass clipper
- Bass boost caused artifacts, should be fixed now (I haven't checked yet if there are places where the effect itself changed)
- RDS display in GUI improved. Not all characters can be displayed properly but this is as close as I can get without making a completely new character set.
