This beta is definately nice and clean. I had some issues with excessive high frequencies, but the beta seems to have taken care of that.

Athl0n: Do you think that it sounds cleaner than 6.30? Because I also received a complaint about 'weird sounds' that were present (haven't heard them myself yet), and I know now that I did some things wrong in this new version - I'll have to fix those.
I have not noticed any "weird" sounds, pops or clicks. I have been running this latest beta all day on FM using the stand-alone version. My impression is that somehow the harmonics have been greatly reduced. I can really increase the dirty bass, mids and highs to levels that I could not with 6.30. So yes, it does sound cleaner than 6.30.

Ok, I tried out a completely different approach. In the previous version, the bass sounds between 100 and 200 Hz were LOUDER than in 6.30, now they are softer... Still I think this is the right solution. The highs improvement should still function roughly the same as in the previous 2 beta's.

I've also added 2 new sliders at the bottom of the Loudness panel, with which you can change the shape of bass sounds (more square-wave like), to boost deep bass sounds. Just increase the "Bass shape" slider to get more bass (especially if there are no other sounds present, try a sweep for example). The 2nd slider can be used to determine up to which frequency we can have harmonics (it's not very strict, but the amount of harmonics starts to drop from this frequency upwards).

There is some kind of modulating sound when i use that new clipper.
Try with a 60 Hz sine wave and compare with BBP.

You mean the bass shape thing I suppose? I only tried a sweep so far and that seemed ok - will try a constant tone later when I get home.

Hm, may I guess? Could it be intermodulation distortion around 100-300 Hz? I was kinda expecting those... (As I said earlier, I don't hear IMD at low freqs).

New sens start freq: I've moved it up a bit again, because before (last beta's) certain higher bass sounds caused *themselves* to be dropped, which is not what one would want. So now it starts at 2nd bass freq/2nd bass freq + 100 Hz.

Due to some personal circumstances I'm currently unable to work much (as in: The last 2 days I could just barely read my mail). But today - also after chatting with Bojcha and re-thinking the whole thing - I made some small changes to the bass clipper which should make it sound a lot better.

I've ran a VERY brief test using only my laptop speakers and some very crappy headphones, so I've mainly tested this by looking at the waveform - which looks a lot better than before. What I didn't test yet is if there is any effect on IMD etc.
