Ok, than i don't get it.... i probably think to analog, i would like to get it dough..
It would only respond slower within the window, so when the difference between the input level and the target level is < 2dB in my example. If the difference between the input level and the target level is larger it would not be in the window anymore and thus move faster. So it would only move slow if there is a small difference and move as fast as normal when the difference is large.

Ah, yes that's what i intended to say, the sudden difference is in the window.
But i think i get it now, i think to analog.
In simple analog AGC circuits this will cause problems since the AGC will only react to it's attack time.
There is nothing wich precalcultates the volume difference, and thus adjusting the attack time at forehand.

Case closed, i trust you guys when it's up to digital audio processing... :D

Whole point of 'window' is you can set main AGC speeds faster and whatever track will stay constant in AGC since it should be always in window. Ofc not every track.

When speeds are 0 in window with 4dB size, you loose or have 2dB more constantly. Yes 4/2.

In ORBAN 8500 this is wat AGC window does:

Window Size determines the size of the floating “slow zone” window in the master band of the AGC. (The Bass band is not windowed.)
The window works by slowing down changes in the AGC gain reduction that are smaller than the WINDOW SIZE.
The window has 2:1 asymmetry around the current AGC gain reduction.
For example, if the WINDOW SIZE is set to 4 dB, the window extends 4 dB in the release direction and 2 dB in the attack direction.
If the AGC needs to respond to a large change in its input level by making a gain change that is larger than the window, then the AGC’s attack and release controls determine the AGC’s response time.
However, if the change in input level is smaller than the window size, the WINDOW RELEASE control determines the attack and release times.
This is usually much slower than the normal AGC time constants.
This prevents the AGC from building up density in material whose level is already well controlled.
The previous explanation was somewhat simplified. In fact, the window has “soft edges.”
Instead of switching abruptly between time constants, the attack and release times morph smoothly between the setting of the WINDOW RELEASE control and the setting of the AGC master release and attack controls.

The normal setting for the WINDOW SIZE is 3 dB.

Yes, "slow zone" = Slower speeds inside window. And yes 4dB means 2 up and 2 down.

Not sure if this is exactly what's needed, but I've added a slow movement inside the window tonight.

Behavior is like this:
- Within the window, it moves to the place where it would have been had there not been any window at a configurable speed (for example 50%/sec means, move 50% of the distance to where you would have been per second).
- Beside that you can control the maximum speed for moving up (release) or down (attack).

So, to have a constant speed, just set it to 100%/sec and set the (then constant) attack and release speeds as you like. To have a relative speed, set the maximum attack and release speeds to the maximum and choose some lower percentage.

0% = old behavior (stand still).
100% with maximum attack/release speeds is basically identical to having no window.

This is not properly tested yet. Beta available here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=25813

This can be set with one slider. 0-1x window speed of main AGC speed.
Also it does not work in Current AGC as should. Speeds are always very fast in window.
