i only played with asio and standalone. Now i checked normal DS output in standalone (beta31) and all works fine.. Normal, high, Real-time, multicore on or off.. allways OK.
High Priority is enough even when i put my both cores to 100%, compressing some music.
Buffer size 25ms on my OnBoard soundcard. 48kHz

512/1024 - Bass Boost have artifacts. Easy to hear with "Play bass only"
I know, but how bad are they if you don't enable that? I've made a change in the past to at least reduce the artifacts, and they don't seem to be that noticeable anymore if you're just listening to the output. They should at least be far less bad than they were back then...

I have an item on my TODO list for the next version (6.02?) which will add more quality settings - that should tackle most of these artifacts (and not just for bass boost).

Bojcha, could you check if your issue:
Quote:
- When i change Soundcards samples it should ask me to restart program or somehow to deal with it. Currently it hangs. Moving buffer size or bypass ON/OFF, resolves it.
is still there? I may have fixed it, but I'm not sure and I cannot test it :-(

If it's not fixed, could you just let it running for a while (a few minutes) and see if it comes out eventually?

hmm .. when i change samplerate in ST, it ask me to restart.
When i change (configure) ASIO and number of soundcard samples it just works no hangs.
That's beta31B
minor: I must move buffersize or any slider, to show that i change it from 256 to 48.

edit: beta31B, No sound when "multiple cpu" selected" (asio)

Same as Phoenix reported... Found it -> working on fix now!

Showing buffer size should be fixed now too.

By the way, it asks you to restart when you change the sample rate? What does? Stereo Tool? ASIO driver? Something else? It should just switch 'on-the-fly', without any notification or anything.

Could you try this:
- Set Priority to Normal in Stereo Tool. This should lead to NO clicking at buffer size 5000.
- Then in Task Manager, stepwise increase the priority. I'd like to know at which setting clicking starts. If I know that I can probably add an extra mode in Stereo Tool.
Tested again but this time with version 31. With this version i also get clicks with buffer of 5000ms and stereotool to normal priority. When increasing the priority with task manager the clicks are gone with realtime.
Edit: Same result with version 31B
Edit: Same with version 31A

So the previous measurement was probably not done good enough or i did something different there. It takes some time (couple of second) before the click appears and maybe i haven't noticed it before.

Testing with version 31C
There's something wrong, i see the buffer filling and then it's empty and i get a click every 5 seconds.

31C: Same here, I pulled the download link off the site immediately (but apparently not fast enough :-)

Still looking what's causing it.

Edit: Found it! I first started the ASIO data stream, then I updated the buffer size on screen... If that took longer than the time to fill the first ASIO buffer, synchronization failed completely. Whether it went wrong or not depends on buffer size and CPU load... In my case it went fine most of the time, but failed occasionally.

Building now.

Fix (ASIO in multicore mode, immediate display of changed ASIO buffer chunk size) - this time without weird repetition issue:

Hey hans, in the AGC controls could you please update the help section to describe the effects of the sliders to the right of attack & decay? I'm kinda getting the grasp of what they do but I'm unsure if I am right or just getting lucky. :)

Thank you :)
