I changed "performance" settings from 'Programs' to Background services. But that not helped at all.
I never got this option on windows. Is it meant for servers?

No, I'm not going crazy... I just found out that one command that I'm using to tell the GUI thread that it should update, which (according to all the info I can find about it) SHOULD return immediately. Well, it usually does, but for some reason it doesn't when windows are being resized (redrawn also I guess).

This really doesn't make any sense at all, but I'm going to avoid using that command from now on. (Other people are even reporting waiting times of upto a second - no solutions or even causes are posted anywhere though).

New attempt - and at least based on the logging on my system the problem should be solved now.

Display is enabled again.

EDIT #2: OK now!

Note: If there are still issues, please also try it with the Stereo Tool window minimized, and then opening/closing other windows. Just to rule out any Stereo Tool GUI issues.
Odd thing is: I do see effects on the buffer filling when I'm dragging windows over the ST window, or minimize/maximize the Task Manager. But I don't measure anything like that in my logging...

Is this issue / change only applicable to Stand Alone, or do the other versions also have similar issues?

Only stand alone. The others cannot reach such a short latency anyway.

Congratulation!

No clicks/pops anymore!
I persistently try to move windows over desktop but no clicks. :D

Note:
- At least "high priority" need to be ON !
- Mutlicore gives me 2.0ms minimal buffer size, but it's still OK and no clicks
- No Multicore selected gives me 1.7ms minimal buffer size, and again no clicks
- Sometimes VERY rare click if window is NOT minimized, actually i heard 1 click and no more.

excellent!

Great! Finally! Now it's time to finish version 6.01....

I'm now going to build all the versions again, with the GUI thread back to normal (instead of below_normal) priority.

I notice big differences between single and multiple CPU core with latest version.

- Even with 10.0 ms i get clicks when i don't check Use multiple CPU cores.
- When i hit restart the clicks are gone, when restart is hit again the clicks are back.
- With multiple CPU cores selected i can set buffer to 2.7 ms.
- Testing some more there are also clicks when hitting the restart button with multiple CPU cores and with higher buffers even with 10.0 ms.

The reason I ask is under higher CPU loads, particularly with any Flash content running, the GUI window has issues closing down. Sometimes it will just hang until the load is gone, while other times it will turn to a gray window with the Bass Boost bars still moving...

Might just be something I have to deal with, but thought I'd mention it. This computer was built for running Doom 3, and was relatively state-of-the-art back then, but not now... :(

Pertinent specs:

AMD Athlon64 3700+ (San Diego core) @ 2750 MHz
2GB OCZ PC-4000EB Platinum (DDR-500 @ 500 MHz, 3-3-3-8-1T)
nVidia GeForce 6800GT (256MB DDR3, AGP)
