Stereo Tool

The reason Why I want to use Stereo Tool is mainly even only for removing noise with constant character from movies. Old movies and often VHS rips have noise in their audio stream. That is the type of noise that I want to remove. I heard for this aplication from another member of Topaz forum and he says that this program has steep learning curve and yes, I agree with that. To this point I succed with managing Stereo Tool. The first hardness that I faced was the installation process. It takes me time to run successfuly programm without the message "sound card error". But I didn't know how to put sound file in Stereo Tool. I installed the Standalone version then installed virtual audio cable, several times reboot the computer, used Audacity for player program, set playback device to Cable Input (I would post screenshots but if it is possible I don't know how). Then in Stereo Tool I set input to "Cable Output", Gain to 0db, Low Latency Monitoring to "Speakers" with Volume adjusted to -6db. Under Audio I/O I set Sample Rate to match with the sample rate of the audio file opened in Audacity (44.1kHz). The only settings that I was changing were latency settings. I played with all variations of processing latency, from lowest to highest value. Buffer size usually set to 1ms. I left aside OS Safety Setings and HD/FM Output Buffers. I left aside ASIO module, Input 2, HD, FM output and Output Stream modules. In Dehummer section first I train with input, containing only noise with lenght around 5sec. Then turn off Train button and immediately run the audio that I want to process and... nothing happens. Dehummer module is turned on, there is an image in both scopes for input and output, I hear sound through the headphones with significant lattency when the module is turned on and I do not hear any difference (except increased latency). I tried changing sliders in Dehummer Filter Strength window, tried all kind of processing latency and every time when I change settings I reset the process of Dehummer training. I also increased the output volume in audacity to max, set different levels of noise sample (used for training) varying from -20 to -6dB but nothing. I don't hear any difference. Also to note, the noise sample is from the same audio that I tried to filter! What am I missing?

dehummer is using for low noises like rumble or 50 hz noise ...for noise cancelation you have to use another thing to have success for movies ,,,,and stereotool is perfect for playback after restoration ...i hope helps you
