  • Put in Matt's preset updates
  • Change version number
  • Wait for Wes' preset updates
  • Update STX presets
  • Updated French translation
  • Fixed "mu" character display in modern webinterface
  • Why are there currently semi-random numbers in GPS pulse distance if there is no signal at all? At the very least hide them.
  • Improved Composite Clipper, Stokkemask, BS412 in STX/SST/ABE interface
  • Added zoom factor for ABE interface
  • Added build target for multi-instance version, and merged code as far as possible

TODO's
  • pens

    pens
    uMPX bellen, mailen
  • Update version number
  • Verify ABE web interface login / multiband bands
  • Verify PhoneBooster multiband display bands
  • ACR: Turn Flip phase off when delay == 0
  • Update DCM preset, make sure Sub Bass Boost is on in STX/SST builds, and new Wes's preset?
  • "Basic" mode AGC -> Per Band display is bad (other modes as well, just not as bad as this one).
  • Backup soundcard doesn't work? - broke in 9.60, fixed now.
  • VST2 plugin hangs in Audition on close -> Fixed, closing changed
  • Mac signing Waiting for test
  • MicroMPX library: decoder buffer stuff for customer. Also turn off sound card restarts, remove C++11 from enums and add void* for callback, add a way to skip silence? (Also needs to change Availalbe, or Read needs to return from where it's valid).
  • MicroMPX performance
  • MicroMPX detect before when a packet gets huge, and send a code to warn against that, OR change raising of thresholds to go faster.
  • Monday: Fill new site BUSY
  • Monday: Pens BUSY
  • Tuesday: Verify STX installer
  • Tuesday: Make multi-instance version available
  • Tuesday: Add SST multi-instance interface

  • LiquidSoap/Centova setup manual, maybe add some features
  • SST: Multiple instances BUSY
  • Pi PiMP stand alone BUSY
  • Website BUSY
  • Reduce CPU load MicroMPX
  • Support Contract
  • Improve Advanced Limiter shape (Bojcha) -> Problem is not what it seemed to be! There's a memory problem between chunks of audio, solution is to keep track of what happened in the previous block, and keep the previous audio.
  • Improve Advanced Bass Distortion Protection
  • Compressor with curve drawer
  • Disable stereo widening when detecting low bitrate MP3s
  • Add a checkbox under Delossifier that makes Absolute Highs fix the highs.
  • STX: Verify high frequency tilt behavior
  • VST3 new NAN issue - waiting for CPU info (doesn't happen here).
  • STX: Create built-in presets. Initial set added
  • Put Declipper presets in ST. Selecting one with "APPLY" overrules all existing settings.
  • Linux Jack 64 9.37 on Debian 9, stereotool shows once in main cable connector twice in the "patch pannel" is this intended behaviour? If so what is the difference?
  • BS412 bug: For Quality > 100, the compressors are off by a few dB (probably 1.5x or 2/3rds).
  • How to synchronize HD? THU
    -
  • Measure HifiBerry stereo separation -> Improved from 35 to 55 dB. Make RC work with Ignore high frequencies -> Later
  • AGC classical music settings
  • Loudness project
  • Complaint: All (Normal, LL) outputs in Linux go to FM
  • Tom aan de Stegge remarks email 30 september 20:23 - change many defaults
    -
  • Support rewindowing with different Quality/Size settings. Will give better HPF performance and make lower CPU load possible, and PPM patch points.
  • Linux command line version with AES67 input so output can be streamed - seems to be useful... Other options (run a script for the output) might be easier.
  • Finish 9 - final uMPX file name issue -> In next 9 update.
  • Figure out how to display NMEA/pulse status in GUI. -> Waveform and jitter-view for pulse detection in detail view, GPS in stream, NMEA data, NMEA readable, Pulse detected flags.
  • PhoneBooster make multi-threaded if needed (it probably is, esp. for Pi)
  • PhoneBooster make Pi version
  • Add something to get now playing content from file (but: first figure out how, could be via a separate program or something).
  • Streaming output can hang - calls probably need to be moved to a separate thread. ???
  • MicroMPX needs exception handling, just in case.
  • WatchCat replace files instead of placing them elsewhere. For playout systems.
  • WatchCat add CMD /C
  • Thimeo School
  • ABDP remove stuff that's no longer needed? BUSY for low CPU

  • Declipper handle resampled audio better (upsample, find oversampling spikes, then detect based on what remains)
  • Console version: Read sample rate and bit size from WAV header
  • # bands selections should allow option to insert a band instead. Or ask what to do when you change it.
  • AES67 thread affinities and priorities
  • Add resampler

Latest version - Beta 029 (October 27 2020)

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • Version with extra logging for GPS NMEA issues -> No, found that 8 out of 12 possible formattings weren't properly checked. That should fix it.
  • Something is wrong with saving presets & recent presets list -> Doesn't reproduce here.
  • Streaming .dll's not found error message -> Clearer message (DLL's missing)
  • Rename BIYF Boost to Sub Bass Boost
  • MicroMPX encoder missing GPS indicators

Latest version - Beta 028 (October 24 2020)

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • AutoEQ: Added "Go to center" for near-silence per band.
  • Multiband Compressor 1: Added "Go to target" when gating per band.
  • Pre-emphasised MB's - Waiting for feedback
  • Advanced Clipper: Added asymptotic mode (probably a bad idea though, unless used VERY carefully). This makes the step from not clipping to clipping less abrupt, but also causes some extra distortion.
  • RDS: Code was sending euro sign as an E, but the euro sign ASCII code in RDS is actually an à. Removed.
  • MicroMPX encoder: Restart GPS sync on sound card restart
  • MicroMPX decoder: Reset delay if pulses from stream disappeared by turning GPS in encoder off/on. -> Probably no longer needed
  • MicroMPX encoder with GPS in Stereo Tool: Figure out how to handle input resampling -> Was a different issue, 2 errors in sample rate calculation and time stamp placement solved, everything looks perfect now.
  • Verify MicroMPX on Pi audio quality compiler bug - 64 bit is ok, CPU load about 2% lower. Test 32 bit
  • MicroMPX: Add thread affinities for library
  • PhoneBooster: Audio level is far too low -> Bij nieuwe test niet
  • PhoneBooster: Missing presets in native GUI

Latest version - Beta 025 (October 17 2020)

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • Declipper Linux build
  • AGC crash in PhoneBooster due to stage 3
  • Check priorities/affinties new threads (hiccups @ SST)
  • Final clipper: Reduced maximum frequency for even harmonics from 1000/2000 Hz to 400/800 Hz. Might have caused issues when loading older presets.
  • Block PiMP on Pi (maybe require FM for low buffer sizes)
  • MicroMPX encoder GPS: Flipped USB delay sign, so 0 ms = empty bar
  • MicroMPX: Removed linebreaks from Windows error messages
  • MicroMPX encoder/SST/STX: Target IP addresses were not visible
  • MicroMPX encoder/decoder: Setting thread priorities Testing needed
  • MicroMPX decoder: CPU load reduced by about 2%
  • MicroMPX: Added NEON code for future performance improvements.

Latest version - Beta 021 (September 29 2020)

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • Bug fix: In the previous 2 beta's, when a non-existing sound card was selected it was impossible to select another one without restarting.
  • MicroMPX: GPS synchronisation now fully functional on Pi's
  • Top bar uMPX encoder was broken
  • MicroMPX GPS synchronization: Added support for generic, Galileo and Beidou beside GPS
  • Fix VST3 and Console builds

Changes/bugfixes
  • License issue fixed (AGC 3/4 bands, Progressive release/ratio always gave an unlicensed message, even if you have an Advanced Dynamics license)

Latest version - Beta 016 (September 18 2020)

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • Changed bass enhancer behavior, should be more logical now. Settings are different!
  • Fixed 4-bands AGC Window mode, didn't work for bands 3/4
  • Fixed AGC moving inside Window when using Attack speedup.
  • Analog compressors: Added Progressive Ratio.
  • AGC: Added Progressive Ratio for testing (doesn't full work with Sudden Jump Protection yet).
  • AGC: Added Sudden Dump Protection, which speeds up release when the level drops a lot. This is mainly useful when using constant release speeds (but even without that it does stop Release Hold and Windowing).
  • Disable Speedup if max speed = off.
  • RDS: UECP: Made MagicRDS 3.8g work again (different dialect than version 3.7g)
  • RDS: Added DPSTEXT command that sends RT and PS text in one go and uses word wrap for PS.
  • Linux version: Jack behavior improved, names corrected, latency reduced.
  • 3/4-band AGC and Progressive release/ratio fall under the Advanced Dynamics license.
  • MicroMPX: GPS SFN synchronization now also works on Raspberry Pi and sound cards that don't have exactly the same timing every boost.
  • Try immediate release combined with release hold?

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • Large code refactoring
  • Added sidechain bass compressor (currently coupled to True Bass, but we'll probably separate it from that later). Goal is to make bass more consistent.

Excited to try new bass compressor. However I'm currently getting 404 errors when I try to download any of the files.

edit: Oh, it's linking to 952, not 953. That's why. They're there, just gotta change the url.

BIYF=Bass in your face? :lol:

EDIT 2: The CTRL key does not seem to affect the frequency selector on the BIYF boost.

Also, would it be reasonable to make the frequency selector below 100 Hz be accurate to one tenth of a Hz?

EDIT 3: I'm noticing harmonic ringing when the attack is set below around 0.50ms.

@MrKlorox:
1. Links fixed.
2. That seems a bit too much detail...
3. You probably shouldn't go that fast for bass frequencies... Do you need it to be this fast? (If so, using a bit - like 1-2 ms - of lookahead would probably be better, but you can't select that now).

Fair enough. I suppose I'm looking at the scale of the peq graph, and seeing the line seemingly jump around as I change the frequency, and assuming my transducer would be affected. I haven't gotten down to the nitty gritty and run pure tones or tests outside of metal yet.

Right, I really don't need it to be that fast. Metal blast kicks are rapid, but not that quick. I was just experimenting and noticed an anomaly.

First crash I've been able to catch. It happened with the 32 bit vst2 in Reaper, causing its host to hang, requiring the DAW to be closed to close the frozen host. Before this, it was cashing and just breaking the plugin, so I don't know if this is the same error.

The previous instance of the plugin had crashed, muting the track audio. So I right clicked, Replaced FX, and the audio worked. But as soon I double clicked it to open the UI it hung. This happened while it was playing.

EDIT1: I'm attempting to register the 64 bit VST3, but the paste button is not working, and Reaper thinks there's nothing in my clipboard when I try to CTRL+V or CTRL+SHIFT+INS. Possibly Reaper's fault? I'll look up that method to create the file with the key in it and see if that works.

Hm, the crash is in a function called "__intel_memset". Which isn't very helpful (I can't see how it got there). What were you doing when it happened? Did the plugin run fine before and suddenly crash, was this during loading, ...? Does it reproduce?

The plugin was crashing inside the host consistently before that final hang, but I couldn't narrow down what was doing it. I had one instance per track (4 tracks with various bass and EQ effects) and one on the master bus (clipping), and I couldn't tell which one was the culprit when it hung.

However before the hang, it would be playing, I would close the window, switch to a new track, start adjusting parameters in ST for it, then suddenly a track I wasn't working on that very moment goes silent (presumed crashed plugin without a GUI to show the error). Removing or replacing the FX is the only way to return audio to the bus and get the GUI back, so that's a plugin crash, right?

I couldn't get it to reproduce with the 64 bit VTS3 once I got it working. I'll spend more time with the 32 bit VST2 today trying to reproduce it and catch it before it goes away.

Loaded up the DSP in Foobar2000 using a dsp bridge (foo_dsp_winamp by CannibalZerg), and this error occurs the first time I try to play through it, every time. This same wrapper was fine in previous versions of ST.

And when I have the DSP deselected in the bridge plugin; if I begin to play music then choose it while playing, Foobar crashes entirely.

How do you select a plugin? I have installed foobar2000 and this bridge plugin, it shows up under Components, but there's only an about page - nothing else.
