@michi95: I cant wait to hear how it will sound your HQ presets. Since a long time ago I'm looking for this for my web radio, because I dont to fight in the "loudness war" in the internet world, I think that the loudness war only is for FM broadcast. I want HQ in my stream not a loud hyper processed like FM sound. :) .

Highs indeed seem to be a bit louder than they should be. And the lows (below 200 Hz) are reduced a bit more than he highs by the AGC.

Next step: I think I need something to play a whole bunch of tracks, and then report the median (most used) amplification value for each of the bands. Then I can use that to change the settings, and eventually the median values for all the bands must be (nearly) identical for a large body of recordings to have no effect on the sound.

I guess it would also be useful to offer this info to users. So I think I'll add a median indicator in the output bars in the Multiband compressor window, and add a 'reset' button to restart the measurement.

For the AGC I could do the same thing - and then maybe add a new slider to boost the bass channel a bit.

My previous post was not so smart... so i deleted it.

I notice one thing...
Hans, you totally removed ITU AGC ? Why ?
Forget ITU! My i ask is it possible to add EQ in AGC so i can choose what freqs will agc detect?
If yes.. I think i can easily make AGC to work as should even with much more stable rms output!

Hi Bojcha,

ITU is removed because I only merged the parts of the old 5.10BETA into 5.00 (to create 5.01) that did not cause any problems. ITU-1770 was one of the things that did cause issues (especially in the Celine Dion song the voice caused the other sounds to drop way too much). Well actually, the bass part of ITU-1770 is still there, because THAT gave an improvement.

Can you give me some more details about what you want to do with the AGC? I can add soooo many things that determine which frequencies are counted how strong...

I'm now building an update which can display the median value for all the output bars of the multiband compressor. Purpose: Play a large body of tracks, and it will display how much all the frequencies are reduced overall. If they all end at the same value, ON AVERAGE the tracks will come out unchanged (in frequency content), this means for example that the highs aren't increased too much.

Will post it in about an hour.

well .. i already show you erlier that AGC need to respond on some freqs more and on some less..
First to keep Dynamic:
Other processors have called WB AGC .. they mean they have treat each frequency different!
AGC with Adjustable Sidechained parametric-EQ - That's it, WB, i guess (?)
What i found that mostly detected are somewhere between 400 and 700/800Hz.. but that can be different.
For example the 60Hz can be less detected by almost 8dBcompared to 500Hz.
I am not shure whay like this, but that's how that worked.
All i am ask is EQ detection settings in AGC section (10-bands, freqs can be like in multiband)

I would gladly like to do setup on that AGC-EQ detection, with current ST version.

Ah ok clear.

ITU-1770 means that low freqs are greatly reduced in this side band, and high freqs (above 1000-4000 Hz) are increased a bit. That differs a lot from the frequencies that you mention (400-800 Hz)!

This is easy to turn on again (the code is still there, but I've turned it off for now). However, as I mentioned, this behaves badly for loud high freqs (especially loud voices like in that Celine Dion song).

So, what you want is an equalizer for the side band?

exactly..
And if you can make it .. don't bring back ITU... i wanna try my ITU with that eq 8-)
