I still cannot reproduce it here.

What I expect:
- Turning FM PROCESSING (PROCESSING!!!) on or off DOES have an effect on the Normal Output, due to pre-emphasis and de-emphasis.
- Turning FM OUTPUT on or off should NOT have an effect on Normal Output.

Which is also what I'm seeing. Am I missing something?

hmhm...

checked again and again, ST (standalone)
Input 192kHz VAC1 - NormalOutput SoundMAX soundcard - FM Output: VAC2

Turning off and on "FM output" really not make any difference to normal output. That's true.
but...
Turning off and ON stereo makes difference to normal output. More difference when 75us is selected.

Recorded from Soundcard (normal Output) First half is Stereo OFF, second half is Stereo ON.

New update is coming up (building now).
Changes:
- Loading and saving of settings works now for all the new settings (Winamp/Stand alone, VST still needs to be finished)
- Improved fonts at larger window sizes
- There's now no maximum to the window size anymore, and the "Maximize" button works
- RDS without stereo no longer generates a stereo pilot tone.

I'm looking for good default values for Bass Boost. In some songs I clearly hear distorted bass sounds, so I want to lower the filtering frequency. But it's a tradeoff: Lowering the filter frequency also reduces the effect of the filter. So if you have a set of 'preferred values', let me know :-)

TODO for release:
- Test VST parameter reading/writing ■ DONE, made some fixes!
- There's a bug report that no 2 Stereo Tool instances can be loaded in a VST engine, test that too. ■ DONE!
- Fix Stereo Boost meter (stops after few/many minutes/hours of work) not a show stopper, I'll release it with this bug if I cannot find what's causing it
- Bass Boost default values. ■
- Bass Boost display in main window. (Currently ugly black block, I want to display the effect of the filter here) ■
- Different Normal Output sound when FM + Stereo is enabled. ■ will further look into this tomorrow
- Fix presets. (Phase Rotation on etc; use Bass Boost in FM Bass presets) ■

I expect to have the first "real beta" (that I can post in the News section of the forum) tomorrow.

Uploaded as BETA3A!

Edit: Fixed loading/saving parameters in the VST version now as well. Also found and fixed a bug (certain parameters were not always written in the VST version, now they are).

Note: Found a new bug in the VST version: List of presets is duplicated for some reason. Will check that tomorrow.

hans did you implement a peak meter on stereo tool that goes red when it peaks to high? because if you did that would explain why the input output meter go red sometimes.

do like the fact you can now re size the window that helps lol

FORGET WHAT I PUT ............JUST READ POST. you did implement red meter peaks. :)

BUT its sounding good no errors to report as of yet.

I can confirm now,
FM output is fantactic now! I put latest beta to transmitter and difference is huge! btw FM overdrive is at 106-107%. Peeks looks good and well maximized. Highs are more precise and bass is somehow stronger. Due new phase-rotator mids ang highs are far less muddy. Overal sound is clearer.

:)

Works great now Hans.

Any thoughts about my idea in regards to the 'post amp' slider question?

Hi Luke,

You are right that - during normal processing - Post Amp should never get above 0 dB. But... I often find it very useful if I use a 'DIFF' setting to hear the effect of a filter, that I can increase the output volume a lot.

So I'm not sure what I should do with it.

Hvz, I love the new AGC. I need to update my low-bitrate optimizer, (however it still works great as-is, so I don't know how much I want to tweak - I am using Beta 3A).

I noticed you have the old preset still. If you could implement the most recent preset I created, I'd appreciate it. It is radically different, and much better over my old process. Any augmentations using the AGC versus the pre-limiter will employ that base ideology.

I also love the red clip indication on the input as well.

There are some great latency improvements. Truly impressive!
