Hans,

Been testing this version for a couple of hours now.

I am very very very impressed!
The songs that I have distortion in other competitors 'best sounding audioprocessor in the world period' kuch kuch kuch are completely gone now in your 'best sounding processor of the universe'.

I wonder if those little asymmetric can also be produced because of a too quick attack set limiter. This could cause harmonic distortion of the fast attack. I have no direct clue on how to give it a go to test or if it can even exist and what the effect would be if you also put phase rotators behind it. Might be a bit of a crazy idea.

But anyway big step ahead!!!

Hi Luke,

Cool :-)

I'm going to move the phase rotation thing to after most of the processing steps (it's now located even before the AGC, which causes some annoying effects - that's because I hacked the stereo image filter instead of creating a new one). I think I'll place it right before the Singleband compressor/limiter (which is usually turned off, in that case it's right before the Final Limiter). Doing so will also remove the pre-ringing that is still occurring.

Will put it back on the todo list... :-(

Edit: Bojcha, when this happens: Do you know if the other Stereo meters (Azimuth, and the 2 blue bars) still work?

Also, if I remember correctly this is in the main window? What happens in the Stereo window? Does it stop there too?

Ow, and one more: If you minimize the main window to the tray and then open it again, does the output display change then? (You might need to do this a few times to be able to see a difference, because it's possible that you get (nearly) the same level back when you restore the window).

Should be better to be just before multiband, to better fix created new peeks ?

Aarch! The phase rotation filter is causing some sounds to be played a few samples earlier than the rest. And I would have never expected it but - that's noticeable! Bass kicks seem to start at a higher frequency and then drop, because the higher frequencies around 600 Hz are pushed back in time and hence played earlier - about 1.5 ms (73 samples), but that's noticeable!

I've now turned the processing around (at 600 Hz the sound is pushed forward instead of backward; if highs start a bit later that's far less noticeable as when they start sooner), and I've smoothed the start of the processing (at around 500 Hz the movement now starts much slower than before, which reduces the pre-ringing).

I'm not certain anymore if I should still use a pre-ringing filter for this...

Just found a bug in the code that displays these bars (but actually I don't understand that it works at all). Fix coming up.
