Hello,
Like you know I have much more AGC improvements in my mind...
But one of these is th idle gain, a value the gain reduction returns when the AGC is gated.
My proposal (with 3 sliders):
The AGC should move to a dynamic value when the unit is gated. This value should depend on the actual gain reduction. This way:
An "idle gain offset"- slider defines a dB- value that - added to the actual AGC gain reduction - determines the end value.
A second speed slider defines at wich speed the AGC moves to this point in the gated condition.
A third slider defines the hold time before the movement in gated conditions starts.
Example:
Actual gain reduction: 10dB.
idle gain offset = +6dB.
speed = 6dB/s
hold = 1s
Now suddenly there is silence. The gain reduction stays for 1s at 10dB and then goes down to 4dB with 6dB/s.
Regards,
Robert
