hei, i have a question.

is it possible with a 2 marian cards sistem
connected with the syncbus to be able to use it with same asio driver and have multiple outputs with no latency alterations ?

thanks,

I have never tested it myself, but I have asked Marian about this, and what they said is: If you put in 2 *identical* Marian sound cards, they will be seen by the driver as 1 card with more inputs and outputs. You can connect the two with a cable so they share the same clock.

I don't know if this is true for *all* Marian cards (I asked for the Seraph AD2), so you might want to ask them to make sure.

Why? If it's seen as 1 card?

Asio does not work with 2 or more cards in same time.

The driver treats it as 1 card. So that shouldn't be a problem.

the way it works is like this.

tdm bus connects the two sound cards and syncronizes them and they share the same sample rate.
after a good syncronization you have 8 channels (TDM) witch you can send between cards with no latency.

example in my setup:

i have a seraph 8 and a seraph d4 and i use the seraph 8 as the asio device in Stereo Tool, after that i send some outputs from seraph 8 trough TDM channels(2 channels) to the seraph d4 physical outputs.

in this way i have different outputs going to analog outputs and digital with 0 delay.

i use 3 outputs in this moment: low latency analog to studio monitoring and logger/internet streaming, normal output analog to satellite stream for national transmitters and fm out digital for local transmitter.

hope this is usefull

cheers

Why "low latency" output for streaming? Why not normal output?

i need the logging to be editable for rebroadcasting and low latency has only some processing done and the logging computer does the encoding for streaming olso ... and to be honest it does not sound bad at all ...clean and soft no need for clipping.
