Such videos are the best alternative for help texts.
Power Bass is a great feature and also clear when you look at the graphic part down at the screen. The bar at ACG, you see at what sounds it will work a bit or more. At the last songs, e.g. Lorde, Power Bass adds also a bit? I see the bar is a bit visible then.

That's about 0.5db bass from "power bass".

I know, I want to record a whole manual this way sometime soon (but when, lol... :().

Help pages are on their way: http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/

Most pages are still empty but I think the layout is ok right now - if you have any feedback let me know.

Here are a few pages that are more or less complete:
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/configuration.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/license.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/cpu_and_latency.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/scheduler.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/web_interface.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/sound_cards.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/agc.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/bandpass.shtml
http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/bass_boost.shtml

Partially finished pages:

http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/limitin ... ping.shtml

I did, but I squelched it... :P

So, you may have noticed a significant absence... I'm still around, but not doing much with my computer these days. Boss is still stressing me out.... I need a new, new job... :(

Anyway, feedback:

CPU load reduction by coding for actual usage rather than each filter in isolation...

As you can see, still same ole me...

I was indeed thinking a few days ago that I hadn't heard from you yet about the CPU load reduction! On my system the last few versions have a considerable drop in CPU usage (for example, in version 7.40 the compressor/limiters and also Natural Dynamics uses more than 30% less than in version 7.31 - total CPU load is about 13% lower for FM presets with composite clipper, so the heaviest presets). So, I would expect that now the new compressor/limiter uses about the same as the old one, maybe even less. Please let me know :)

I do have this point on my todo list:
50. Add a mode where all multiband filters (Natural Dynamics, Noise Gate, Multiband Compressor, Stereo Boost) use the same bands, and they only need to be split up once. I'm not too sure that the Noise Gate can be included in this list...

This will only work for a limited number of cases (bands must be the same, for Stereo Boost the 'Remove excessive reverb' must be turned off etc.)

Actually, originally the Multiband Compressor and Stereo Boost were combined... But I have created a new multiband compressor and Stereo Boost was built into the old one, which means that part of the old multiband compressor code is still in use. I'm planning a new stereo widener anyway, so I'm not going to merge it with the new compressor at this moment...

Is Power Bass for compensating lack of bass in the original material or for getting back the flat frequency response when the AGC is lowering the volume very much and you lost the bass (and highs) because of that? (What's about treble then?)

Lack in the original. The AGC normally works on one band (at least that's the suggested usage now since I've added the side chain).

I will make something for highs as well though, after seeing how much difference this makes for bass.
