In fact, Jack support seems kinda simple.... I found a working demo program that's very short and straightforward. The problem is probably that Jack won't run with ALSA audio inside VirtualBox (either that or my Ubuntu is broken because I updated it so often), so I'll probably have to create a dual-boot system to be able to test anything. And that does make things very annoying.

Looking at how simple the demo program is I might do it sometime this week anyway. Audio support is the one thing that's missing that makes the Linux version of Stereo Tool kinda unusable, at least for FM (you can pipe audio through it, but that's one input and one output only).

Try this command line: pasuspender qjackctl

and then start Jackd from the GUI. Maybe that does not segfault.

Winamp does not close with the latest beta. Going back to beta 009 makes it work properly.

- Bypass bug fixed
- Asio still works properly
- noticed on transmitter PC that tray icon (also beta013) is just black. However on my PC icon is ok.

What version of the software works best. My concern is hardware driver issues and other software compatibility issues.

You mean OS? Just one. XP 32bit SP2.

Hm..... So on your system, 7.23 is working perfectly? Never no input or no output?
I also read that re-starting usually fixes any problems in 7.24-011/12/13, right?

I've made a few changes in the next version (014) that might help here - if it's still not sufficient, I've also made the 'Restart audio' button work again (it didn't work in the previous versions). I hope that the problems are solved; if they are not but the 'restart' button does work, I can easily fix it (by forcing a restart whenever something is changed).

On my test system, ASIO behavior in 014 is identical to v7.23, and the CPU load is also identical.
Yes, 7.23 seems OK.

Comparing 013 with 014:

013 - Input: seems OK, ASIO output gives filling and emptying buffer even with restart (no audio), non ASIO gives red error when changed, only passes audio on restart of ST (blue).

014 - Input: seems OK, ASIO output gives filling and emptying buffer even with restart (no audio), non ASIO gives red error and now doesn't pass audio on restart of ST (still red!)

Looks like this one's not quite solved yet... :(

:(. I'm really getting lost here.

@Oldiesstation: Keep using 7.23 for now...

@sense: Could you send me your settings file? I want to load it in both version 7.23 and the latest beta and add logging to see what happens exactly and in what order, but I want to make sure that I'm testing the exact situation that's causing issues.

Confirmed here! This and the icon issue that Bojcha reported might indicate that I'm looking in the wrong direction, something might crash or deadlock internally. Will try to figure out what's happening.
